Renting or buying Mifi / Pocket Wifi, and using V P N is the best solution for China to be able to use their less regular 4 G bands. And to ensure you can access your normal day to day apps. China internet is troublesome, but not terrible. It still better than North Korean $10US+ per 10mb roaming

That guy mention 80 trips to China being a large number of visit! China is such a common location for sourcing! Every buyer in my office has visited China/Thailand/Vietnam/India/France 100+ You go where the company send you! Shame, every co-worker was fighting for the French trips! haha

I lose count of the visit, but I'm guessing in the 100+. For a native it might be a fantastic place. But for traveller who need to be in contact with home. Or business traveller who need to contact head office. It a communication and logistic nightmare! For communication, I had to relied on a portable wifi device for every visit! As there was never any 3G or 4G on my work or personal phone, it was only 2G. And I had to play around with VPN twice! Once for the work server which is understandable, as I need remote access and it has to be secured etc. But a second time on my personal account, just to WhatsApp family, or check my mail! How is this high tech? My work phones have been Blackberry 9000/9900/Passport/Key2. All of which had no problem getting 3G/4G anywhere else I travelled. As for travelling! It was fine, when the company car is transferring me from A to B. But trains! OMG! I thought I was getting scammed! I ask the office staff to buy me a train ticket so I could travel during the weekend from Shanghai to Hangzhou on a personal sightseeing trip (meaning no free company car). And they told me, I need to give them my passport! I remind them, I said train not plane! But office staff said I still needed my passport for them to buy a ticket from the station. Considering I needed to keep my passport on me, and it was unheard of needing a passport for a train ticket! I decide to go on the weekend, and just travel, instead of buying in-advance! Then the nightmare started! I spent 30min, just trying to get into the train station, as there was x-ray checks for a train station. Then I spent 70 min in a long line to purchase a ticket! Are you a business traveller from China City A to China City B? Cos I don't believe if you a foreign in China trying to use your normal day to day app and payments, you will find China anything but a nightmare! Unless you have a China partner, who has setup all these China App and China payment for you. I use BBM (past), Whatsapp and Gmail for communication, and I use Visa/Amex for payment! None of which I could use in China! Lots of place refuse to take cash! And this was even before pandemic! Lucky, Thailand and Vietnam is a much more easier to use WhatsApp/Gmail/Visa/Cash on a daily basis. And no more train station nightmare even again

Cos i been there over 100 time which costed me 3 expensive 48 pages passports. And man! Their 2/3/4G technology sucks! Couldn't use my iPhone 2/3/4 for any data. Had to use an additional mobile pocket wifi to share my data to my phone. And buy V P N access to access my mails or do any searches. Wasnt until i got iPhone 5/6/7/8 until i could stop carrying an additional mobile pocket wifi. But im still using V P N. As for trains! I never seen such a joke! High tech yes! But let down by human error. I spent longer clearing x ray checks and queuing to buy a ticket than on their high speed trains! 5 G doctor? So high tech! Shame all their rich rush to Korea, Thailand, for medical checks. All to hide their wealth or do plastic surgery. Who knows!

The US has information overload in media and social media. I think many foreigners get an inaccurate look becaues of this. Many carriers are deploying 5G in various spectrum configurations right now.
The same arguments that people had against 5G were ones they had against 4G...ironically, not realizing that both can live in the same spectrum.

The government is delaying the auctions every year... Auctions were to be held in 2017, then skipped to 2019 then 2020, and now to 2021. So expect spectrum auctions by March, and Jio will be the only one bidding.. So once Jio gets spectrum, their 4g network will improve. But you'll be waiting for about 3 to 6 months to actually see an improvement... Jio also wants to buy 5G spectrum, so expect the auctions by end of 2021 and 5G live in 2022.

China is the most advance country on the earth.
They really have the best / most advance train & communication network.
As for the bandwidth,
You can check in the various web.
China mobile have 2CC - 200Mhz continues frequency
China unicom also hsve 2CC
China telecom also have 2CC
Thats 600Mhz for 5G use in band 2.6Ghz - 4Ghz.
They still not converting their 3G & 4G band for 5G
They have lots of bands.
Furthermore.
China already have 5G self driving car
5G doctor doing surgery
5G farming
China is the leader in 5G
I just sad that if we go to cold war mentality.
And gsmarena become a bias web.

Just a couple ... moreSouth Korea is obviously leader in 5G because the penetration is one the highest in the world and has a considerable amount of population. Qatar, Kuwait, and Switzerland are small and rich countries, easy to build and penetrate.
What I don't get it USA above China, I have always have thought that most Americans opposed 5G. Singapore should be on the top 10. Lastly, Indonesia (my country), shouldn't have made on this list :)

Or is the death count false? They can potential write off up to 21 Millions death. That can easily make up 50 Millions new user! Plus, this report is based on 5 factors, not just new user! Spectrum, is like bands/frequency! Im not sure about 5G, but the band China use in 4G, were not the commonly use bands across the whole world. If this is rated on percentage on band cover. This will be ranked very low. Coverage, China is very rural compared to South Korea. Do you expect coverage on a mountain where no on lives? Take up, in China most rich user, use Apple. Considering iPhone doesn't have 5G, the adopter will be low. Also price! Im guessing price plan will cost more for 5G data! Will China user on a cheaper Android handset want to pay for the higher price plan? Base on in-app purchase and paid app. Generally apple user are more willing to spend than android user. Like i said Im guessing? An educated guess at best! Numbers will never be correct! Even thru numbers don't lie! The source of the number will lie! Eco-System, I have no ideal. I don't know of the real life application of 5G in any part of the world. Launches, Im clueless! I don't read/watch China censored and control new. So I can't comment on how it been launched, marketed or sold!

Just a couple of weeks back GSMArena said that in China, there were more than 100 million 5G user. I already crosscheck it, at the end of August, China Mobile alone already have more than 100 million user. And it's estimated 140 million 5G user in China.
So, How can South Korea is the global leader??
I'm really sorry to say but this sound like a cold war media to discredit China.
