There is no such thing as that statement - you get what you pay for. Either you pay more for better quality or you pay less and live with some compromise. You can't have both.

sq2013, 01 Oct 2020That's not correct. It was a resounding success. It so... moreThe number of units sold didn't directly translate to the profit or loss margin. Just because it sold in huge number, doesn't mean it make money. Heck, Xiaomi could make a loss from the Poco F1 for seling the phone at a lower price than the total price of the production for a single unit.

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2020This Pocophone (POCO) enterprise has been money-losing for ... moreI'd say it's strange that the f1 had only 700k units shipped. I'd blame the variety of parts quality, the display cut out and lack of cheap and proper device protection methods on the market. Having said that, after my redmi note 3 died, prematurely, after 4 years of service, the f1 was the only phone on the market that met most if not all of my needs in a phone (about 1-2 months before the x3 came out).

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2020This Pocophone (POCO) enterprise has been money-losing for ... moreThat's not correct. It was a resounding success. It sold 700,000 units in three months up to December 2018 from the start of September. Nobody anywhere would call it a failure. Not only it's own sales but the knock on effect it would have had in consumers minds of xiaomi as a value brand was also undoubtedly huge.

YUKI93, 01 Oct 2020>The Game Changer >Rumored to be a rebadged Redmi 9C... moreExactly. I don't even mind the rebrand itself but using slonga "game changer" for literally weakest model if their entire lineup that's even just a rebrand... Literally the only way it could be a 'game changer' if they were selling them for 1 dollar.

But it's going to be literally just somewhat cheaper Redmi 9C... I mean wow, a phone with entry level 12nm mediatek chipset 269ppi display and 10W charging that's going to be 10$ cheaper than its equivalent from other brand? Everyone is shocked, the game is changed forever, the universe will never be these same. Everyone will remember October 6 as a most important day in history of humanity, we'll be telling our kids we were alive when Poco released an okay-ish entry level phone for a fair price. What a time to be alive, trully.

This Pocophone (POCO) enterprise has been money-losing for Xiaomi since the very beginning, especially so for 2020.

Pocophone F1 was a failed one-off experiment that Xiaomi does not want to ever repeat again. In spite of its extreme pricing and initial positive response from a select part of the tech press, Pocophone F1 was a total failure. It sold merely 700000 units world wide, not quite a million. Its bare-bones approach was completely rejected by Xiaomi's domestic market, according to Xiaomi's own market research after the launch.

It is time to scale down or shot down this POCO enterprise which serves no real interests of Xiaomi. As we are moving forward to face the daunting challenge of the emerging 5G eco-system, we should bury POCO as a part of dormant legacy, without mercy.

              >Rumored to be a rebadged Redmi 9C

Someone at Poco is smoking weed. 😂🤣

                This is getting really boring.
For a brand that started with a model like the F1, they didn't live up to their own name after taking 2 years. Shame

Bruh too many Poco rebrands, Xiaomi needs to stop doing this and start making original phones for the Poco series like the X3.
