Man come on smartphone cameras aren't for comparison and show off. Any decent phone is enough for taking beautiful photos. Ignore scores and benchmarks. Just try it yourself before buying.

Before I believe in DXOMARK but after reading their review on different phones I don't believe them anymore... Just to add up that DxOMark is a JOKE is that the Samsung Galaxy S20 ULTRA autofocus is the worse in 2020(before the multiple update)
Even worst compared to Last year Galaxy S10 series or last year iPhones or OnePlus
And yet the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra that doesn't have any focusing issue still scored the SAME on the Autofocus part of the test (Both are 97) even if in real life focusing issue are non existent on the Note 20 Ultra....

I can’t believe i’m actually saying this but Mi 10 might have best phone camera currently in the market. Did you even look the comparison photos in DxOmark test? Mi 10 was clear winner from Note 20 ultra. Mi 10 had excellent quality in almost every photo. They even won the zooming by clear margin. Xiaomi and Sony definately did something very right with Mi 10 camera.

I don't understand why people are so surprised with this result.S20 Ultra had serious issues with camera from the start,Dxo apparently waited a month with their review for Samsung to fix them,and even after that it was clearly outperformed,as usual,by Huawei and then by Xiaomi too.The same cameras (main and ultrawide) on this Note like on S20U and it's a suprise how they performed?And both devices are powered by the same chipset(EU model), they share the same display,both with serious of documented issues..Camera wise, Huawei is miles ahead,for years now,but Xiaomi reached their level,even surpassed it.

Note 20 Ultra is arguably a superiour phone all things considered, but it noticeably falls behind in image quality especially in stills. Check the actual full resolution samples and you'll see what I'm getting at.

Nothing New, 05 Oct 2020Lol you should read my comment again , i meant that they do... morehuawei pays them?did you ever used a p40 pro or you just making statements out of your a.. ? i went to a p40 pro after 10 years of samsung (s10 my last one) and is miles ahead in so many aspects . Going from s10 to p40 pro in camera terms felt 2 times more generations than going from s8 to s10 , few friends when we go out ask to use my phone for pics since they know what is capable of .
Also coming from that cancerous fringerprint sensor my huwaei is 2 generations ahead when it comes to biometric unlock and so many others stuff so quit having a fan based option and go and actually be open minded and try these phones . Ah and it took me 15 mins to install google for those that can't come with anything else against huawei .

So here's my observation:
-Note 20 Ultra's photos look worse than those from Mi 10 Ultra in pretty much all shooting scenario. More crushed shadows, blown highlights, softened edges, worse everything apart from an ultra wide camera which look comparable between two. Back in 2018 we never even dreamed about Xiaomi beating out Samsung in smartphone camera segment, how unfortunate.
-Now it's very obvious that for zoom section DxOMark not only looks at the pure detail level, but also takes artifacts into accounts. Note 20 Ultra has a horrendous medium range zoom quality which is laughable for $1300 (Atrocious amount of blurring around the edges and colour bleedings in the middle of the frame - the entire frame is artifacty), even though in long range zoom it's indeed very competitive in terms of sharpness.
-Dynamic range is.. a bit worse than S20 Ultra? I can see that the shadows are ever so slightly darker now, and I don't know why Samsung tuned the camera in this way.
-Low light performance has been improved from S20 Ultra and it's pretty obvious if you see GSMArena's review. Lot less noise is present and colours are no longer unnaturally desaturated from strong colour noise reduction. It's great that Samsung made an improvement in this area.
-Focusing performance has got noticeably better from S20 Ultra too, therefore IMO it deserves at least 98 or 99 for this section. Apparently it struggles to focus on subjects in backlit indoor portrait scenes, but 3 points reduction from 100 still feels a bit too harsh, to be honest.
Samsung, please improve your software processing already. When you have sub-1 inch sensor you clearly don't need to oversharpen and smoothen out textures like you're doing right now.

glad I sold my god awful crapxynos s20+ and bought an OP8 Pro, better in every way, samsung should deliver the very best of the best for asking that ridiculous price. This years Samsung offerings are just bad, sorry it is just the objective truth

This is living proof that Dx0Mark does not matter for any user. Everybody who reviewed Note 20 Ultra praised the camera and that it's better than S20 Ultra's camera.
In real use, this is zero. Just another argument for kids who's phone takes better photos. Pathetic.

the scores you see from dxomark are from professionals who study photos and compare them to others. not from regular users who open the camera app and take an instant photo.
thats y the camera will be better to you.
if you think they make it up, read their reviews thoroughly before commenting
