Early adopters see cracks in the plastic around Microsoft Surface Duo's USB-C port

06 October 2020
That plastic is rather thin and could be damaged while plugging in a cable to charge.

      Furthermore, if not for the screen's inability to fold completely, the Fold would look more like the Duo based on Samsung's own concepts which were featured in their Youm Ad in 2013 and their recent "Galaxy: Future" commercial. So this is the design Samsung is working towards. The screen is holding them back.

          The boys in Redmond have done it again. Can you imagine the backlash of this had it been Apple? lol. the media is a joke.

            Anonymous, 06 Oct 2020A faulty product from Gates? How can it be?Gates has had little to do with Microsoft's day-to-day running since 2006/07. This is all under Satya Nadella's watch, who has been a worthy successor to Ballmer i.e. car crash in terms of consumer market.

                2. This is the only dual screen phone that when it works, it makes total sense and can potentially be a mobile work device;

I am in the u. states, so as much took place at AT&T company stores. I first encountered them live at the Capitola Mall AT&T store, in Capitola California. I was impressed actually.

                    Maybe MS has a software workaround for this, just like that american airplane builder throwing some code against hardware that clearly has major physical design flaws? Pfew this time no lives at risk though..

                      I've had it since launch and absolutely nothing, not even a hint of cracking. Don't know what I'm doing right but hopefully it doesn't crack

                        This brings back the ghost of that fatidic launch event of the Lumia 950/950 XL. It's as if Microsoft really tries to scare people away from them, so that the product fails and they no longer need to keep putting resources on it.

                          Every CAD program worth its name should have a feature that checks for when a design is too thin to be durable and warn the designer.

                            Despite too thin

                              Microsoft should stick to Windows.
                              Their Android Experiment is falling apart slowly.

                                      Cosmetic or not, this phone costs a fortune and it's not really acceptable and wreaks of poor QC and testing. I wouldn't be happy with that on a 200 euros phone never mind one that costs seven times that amount. Sometimes I think that I'm glad to be relatively poor.

                                        It's a piece of brick... When will companies understand the flaw in design... They need to move ports on top so that bricks can be rested on their bottoms; can no longer hold phones in hand all the time.... pure crap copy cats...!!
