Where in the world is the dial button in the logs section once the dialer is opened? You've left just the slider on and the dial button is removed. Why the hell did this happen? It was there when the software was there in the phone when I opened it. Fix this issue also.

These lawsuits are getting ridiculous. I mean take the humble vacuum cleaner, so famously named a hoover. Although the name Hoover is protected by some sort of copyright.
The actual technology mimicked in other devices by other companies is nor being contested by hoover is it? I imagine certain patents will apply alas there doesn't seem to be any conflict of interest.
Apples biggest problem is everybody is their competition. So at every avenue they basically restrict competition by patenting every bit thing they do.

I'm confused!
I live in the UK and received the update 2 days ago, it is now on Build Number IMM76D.I9300XXBLFB; and the Search tool is there!

Even if they did patent this back in 2000 it makes no difference as its in use EVERYWHERE and has been for years. Crapple have had zero interest in defending their so called invention and are only now trying to as they are losing left right and centre to Android and in particular Samsung. The apples are surely rotten to the core

The patent war went too far. It's ridiculous what's happening, companies are patenting everything: "excuse-me company X, your phone have microphone with noise cancelation, I did it first, so stop using it, or pay!"

Apple's original advanced local search (Sherlock) was released with Mac OS 8.5 on October 17, 1998. Even if they weren't the first to use it on a phone, as a computing innovator since the 70's they have a ton of patents.

As far as I know, universal search was started by Symbian since time immemorial. Why was Apple allowed to have a patent for this?

I didn't even know I had local search as I know where everything is on my phone.Doesn't affect me either way with or without it,but nice to see Samsung fighting back against something that predates Apple's handheld devices so not really giving them the right to claim any sort of infringement.
Apparantly in a copycat case,Ford will be patenting the wheel so that no one else in the world can make and sell anything that has wheels on it.

I have an International Samsung S3 which is manufactured in UK, but I reside in US. I didn't receive any of these updates either to remove or return the local search back! Does it mean that since I live in US, I won't be able to receive those or any other updates? ... My Baseband version I9300XXLFB.

No, they did not rule on this, simply a judge accorded a ban because this patent. The suit just beginning, how can one say there is a definitive ruling?
