If "most" people didn't buy new phones based on specs, then what is the primary factor they look for while buying new phones? Brand like Apple and Samsung?
If that was the case, then Apple would have been the no.1 phone seller in the world, isn't it? Sadly that's not the case tho. Let me clear your mistake, most people care about features, specs and price so that's why brands like Xiaomi are having increased sales with each passing day. Why would anyone pay $1000 for a phone from Samsung or Apple when they can get same/better features from other brands for lower prices? And please don't get started on "A14 is the best CPU" "apple has best camera" "iOS is best OS" coz none of that is true :-)

Hyping the product is enough to make sales. Maybe a bit of innovation or upgrade to every new release. And this seems to becoming true to every big corpo. Smaller companies are the ones who are experimenting and taking the risks.

hayashi, 12 Oct 2020To be fair, the Note 20 has a 60Hz display for $999...Yes the 400€ poco f2 pro has only an hdr 10+ 1200nits 60hz super amoled
And the 1000$ exynos plastic garbage note 20 with the same 1200nits and hdr10+ and 60hz as the poco costs 1000$
So it's okey for the iphone 12 pro to have 60hz considering that it is a much better value than the garbage note 20 due to the much better build, soc
But yeah if it was a xiaomi phone then even at 400€ and even with very close display quality people will complain why poco f2 pro is only a 1200nits 60hz with 5 millions :1 contrast ratio
