OnePlus phones have been having a notorious bug that does not allow them a stable connection to Wear OS watches. I, having an OnePlus 8 Pro and three Wear OS watches, am particularly affected. So, this news means;
a. OnePlus have fixed the bug or they will be fixing it soon,
or
b. their smartwatch will not be a Wear OS one.
...there also could be that they will release a smartwatch with rubbish connectivity to their phones, but that would be epic fail.
