stepstep, 09 Nov 2020I found the only screen review with some actual measurement... moreYes, it is true. Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro flicker only at the level of 0.66%. But can anyone explain to me what exactly the result of 0.66% flicker means? Because the flicker (PWM) is reported in "Hz" not in percentil.

apparently the dE and gamma are very good, and some sort of pwm is present, although very mild one (0.5%)

Probably at a higher frequency (2000 Hz +), but "lines" were visible as with PWM. For sure I will wait for the results of review from editorial office notebookcheck.net.

Btw .: I would appreciate if gsmarena.com also measured the PWM backlight. Its reviews would get huge added value.

Like the Poco X3 NFC, PWM is used below 40% brightness. Currently, the best equipped model with LCD without PWM is probably Realme X3 Superzoom and Huawei Nova 5T, which are not TOP phones.

                  IPS > OLED
finally some flagship with ips, hopefully it won't have pwm.

Only Notebookcheck seem to do so as standard.

TBH there shouldn't be a reason to use in on LCD panel. Hoping the 10T Lite doesn't.

Xoami mi10T(PRO) is a well-equipped phone with an IPS display, that is why I am interested if it has PWM or its display is (finally) flicker-free.
It´s a pity, that gsmarena doesn't test mobile phones for PWM values.

I feel the realme x2 is still excellent with 730g snapdragon. Super smooth. Also camera is excellent

Lol high refresh rates it is absolute useless feature that everybody wants but know one will use or get any benefits, simply to put on it it is useless and shoulr not make any impact considering phone purchase 60hz is buttery smooth and 120hz does nothing to increase any smoothness only sucks battery for no reason

How funny both phone are lcd screen ravish

Diegofnc, 18 Oct 2020Can somebody tell the differences or the pros and cons of A... morePros of amoled:

-Deep blacks and by extension higher contrast
-Better battery savings when displaying dark images because pixels turn off completely (each pixel in the screen acts like it's own light switch)
-better response time (a more responsive screen)
                              -thinner in design
-more flexible (useful for curved screeens and foldables)

                              Cons of amoled
                              - bad battery efficiency when displaying whites or high brightness
-burn in (basically an image can permanently be stuck in the display)
-PWM (the screen flickers too much and can hurt your eyes if you have sensitive eyes)
-made up of pixels that age at different speeds (blue pixels die real quick making the display colors to be inaccurate)
                              -expensive to replace
-black crush (because the blacks are soo deep details on areas like shadows or night scenes that should be gray is completely just pitch black)

                              Pros of LCD
-Energy efficient when displaying whites or bright screens
                              -cheaper to replace
                              -Better longevity
                              -virtually no burn in
                              -No PWM flickering

At this price, no other brand can't defeat this beast. Even those with 765 soc, others are ridiculously overpriced.

I never dreamed of getting a latest sd soc with LCD, I HATE oleds as they ALWAYS have IR issues, that's why I've always used ones with LCD. I'm immediately buying this one, and hopefully lasts me for years before I get forced to buy oled phones
