raiseApint, 17 Oct 2020Too narrow for reading anything. Deal killer. No offense, but the phone is literally made to read more/ see more content with its 21:9 screen vertically. That is one of the main selling points of the phone as it does so in a compact size with similar width to iPhone SE 2020 and S20. I mean for those that want more width and bigger screen, there is the larger Xperia 1 II as well.

Mine will come on Monday October 19 with the preorder wireless buds. I came from an iPhone 11 Pro but was not impressed with the new iPhones.

I'll rather pay 900 Euros happily for the Xperia 5 II over iPhone 12 even though Xperia 5 II won't be my preferred option from the Android world.

cyber, 16 Oct 2020well,the back is like new one,so the plastic quality is goo... moreWell the quality may have been inferior in the past years, not going to disagree with your point there, but that goes for a lot of phones of that time, when they still had quite a few design differences from model to model, and smartphones still weren't so developed that they are today, hardware and software wise. I bought a Sony Xperia Z Ultra whose screen cracked just after two weeks, but that I believe was due to undeveloped form of glass on its display which couldn't hold up well, rather than the phone quality which was otherwise very premium looking and well made. The current ones, i.e Gorilla Glass 5 or 6 work fine and are much improved over their predecessors, also phones lacked a lot of important features as proper cooling, water resistance, sturdy chassis etc so they failed quite easily. A Nokia smartphone I bought then, a C7 01 cracked with just a fall from three feet, so the quality issue was with mostly all phones of the time I guess, regardless of brand. Phones today are much better in quality and durability, with a lot of focus in this area in the recent years, so I think this Xperia II maybe just as well or worse built as any other flagship phone you'll see in the market today, as we can see in the teardown video, there's barely anything special going in there that would make it a worse phone than others so I'd say they've definitely improved over the years
