Dometalican, 19 Oct 2020As someone else pointed out, if you look REAL close on that... morethe 20MP wide angle sensor has larger pixels than the 40MP sensor but the same size of 1/1.54", That's a heck of an Upgrade from the Mate 30 Pro actually cause 40MP images are less impressive than the images from the new 20MP sensor, since this is behind a 18mm lens, you can use this cam as a regular one and you can always use the 50MP mode as a main, you don't need to use the 12.5MP anymore. I don't need a 12mm lens that produces distorted images.

But one important bit to not miss here is that Periscopes aren't only for Telephotos, my concept design showcase how all major lens type typically found on smartphones can be feed into a single sensor using Periscopes for exemple.

So if you want a simplified answer : the Periscope is clearly better, and inline Telephoto lens can't really do the same, that's why Periscope Telephoto often achieve way higher magnification (zoom).

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2020All that regurgitated info you got offline and just the las... moreI'll just let you think about how stupid your sentence is for a little while...

Done ? Ok, how do you think we learn stuff ? Do you think we get born with knowledge ?
Of course I learned things from internet, literally most programmers have learned this way, as long as I am right, who care where I learned it ?

Only the last sentence needed ?
There is those things called "teaching" and "learning".
I don't see the point of explaining something without explaining how it work and why it is this or that way.
That last sentence was just a recap of the difference, all the rest was how it work and the rest of the explanation as to why it is that way.
This is EXACTLY what is wrong with education, teaching how to do maths without explaining why it is done that way and how it work.

I suggest you to look into the actual samples first, it's not the same as comparing the cameras on Galaxy S series to those on Note series.

When will notches and punch holes ever end.

About Kirin 980 device that I'm using for 2 years already, no complains whatsoever. Heaviest apps & games today can put into highest quality yet still smooth. Overall performance since day one, battery life since day one. Actually I dont know what can slow it down.

Other chipset, yes they are better on the specsheet, but for that kind of performance it'll be worth it if u use the phone for 5-6 years. As I'm changing flagship every 2 years (catching up with other tech other than chipset), I see no problems about it.

ISP and image processing can only bring marginal improvements at best.

Glad to see that Huawei is saving some money from CPU and putting those on extra GPU core. Though I still believe 24 cores G78 is just unreal.
Anyway It would be a nice move by Huawei if they use even 18 core.

Without Google Apps, this is an expensive bleh.

Why would anyone in the developed world buy a device from a company in bed with an authoritarian regime with murky privacy policies is beyond me. The Chinese financed pay-to-play sites will rank it at the top, of course.

I really like this design.. Hope huawei will stick with this for the final product.. Simple and elegant

And apple will be pissed to see their ipod scrolling wheel like design on huawei phone.. Lol

                                        "There’s no periscope for one"
Yet you can clearly see one on the top left corner of the array of camera modules on the back..
Also, Huawei: PLEASE no RYYB sensor this time around.
