HD on a 720g gives you flagship level performance. Meaning it performance better in games than the Oneplus Nord, the Google Pixel 4a and even the samsung galaxy a71 5g

Well, at least they are not using Mediatek, so that's something. Battery is big, too.

Now, that screen resolution is a real shame

[deleted post]Yep and my point is this is even worse.

Sure, the CPU choices don't deliver the best bang for the buck, but sometimes they offer options unavailable on other devices like OIS on the G7 Plus or stereo speakers on the G8 series, it's just a shame that each new generation doesn't build on the good qualities of the predecessors, the G9 Plus is very uninspiring, even if they finally made the choice to move towards the Snapdragon 7xx series... Another good thing about them is the unlockable bootloader. I really don't understand why Nokia can't do the same for their phones, even if they use Android One.

sad to see how HTC can't find it's way back. in a market flooded with chinese phones with much better specs and often better or similar price, htc has decided to keep doing the same thing that has gotten them where they are now. sure, will be hard to compete with said phones, but when you are not even trying...what's the point of the extra 2 cmpletely useless cameras?? and the huge subpar display? they could have taken a note from google and try to go a bit midrange (if google allows it). smaller (6 inch max) fhd screen (either high end lcd or amoled) and 1 good camera will have put it in a much better place. and maybe a better midrange chipset. i like the design, battery, expandable storage and headphone jack. could have dispensed of the fingerprint sensor to cut costs.
but, they went for this... sad, really.

                        Yawn. Try harder, HTC.

HTC had set gold standards in the past. This perhaps is a desperate attempt at comeback. Chinese companies have been a thorn in the flesh for them. This one's too big for comfort. This trend of 6 inches plus screen size has to stop

Anonymous, 19 Oct 20201080p maybe. An OLED display for 250? HTC would loose mon... moreHell no they wouldn't be losing money, they'd still be earning a ton at $295 for this trash even if it had a 1080p OLED display. The Redmi 10X costs dozens less while being better in every possible way except the slightest smaller battery. (which is still large, it's just not like every single cheap trash phone on the market that uses a massive battery as the one excuse for less intelligent people to buy it) Vastly better performance than this. Vastly better display than this. Vastly better build quality than this. Just better in every possible way. This phone is a joke.

Literally the worst phone of the year. iPhones are 10x better values than this. This is absolutely abysmal. HTC has become an utter disgrace. A stain on the smartphone market.

At least the HTC we all knew. Now they are just struggling to get by with phones like this one. Is the same case like Nokia or Motorola. Even though this two have somehow better image nowadays. Still far from the image from couple of years ago.
I wouldn't buy a phone from one of this companies, even if it will cost 100EUR. Not because I do not like them, but because I don't trust they could deliver.
