SHAZAMM, 21 Oct 2020Huawei is also not a " known threat" ..the only s... moreSince you are defending them so much and you seem to be all knowing, I have a single question for you: What is your opinion about the fact that you have to login with your face ID in order to surf 'the internet' in China?
The internet is in quotes because we all know that there's actually no internet in china. It's just a huge network where everyone is spied, every click is logged and you even get a 'citizen score'. If your score is too low, say bye bye to credit loans, a good job and you can even get punished if the score is really low.
I didn't even touch the subject of being LGBTQ or having a different religion (they have 'rehabilitation camps' for people that fall into that category).
So please, do enlighten us on why is china so great again?!

SHAZAMM, 21 Oct 2020Huawei is also not a " known threat" ..the only s... moreI recommend you also actually do some research before telling other people to do research. I'm kind of sick of reading people say they haven't done anything wrong just because they've always relied on them and don't like sudden change. They've been under constant investigation since this all started and the investigations turned up some disturbing issues with the way their lazy approach to programming their firmware which resulted in serious vulnerabilities that needed to be patched over and over. Taking shortcuts in your firmware is never acceptable in any level, regardless of how important the infrastructure it'll be placed in.

So you can actually read something useful for a change rather than spouting nonsense, here is the sixth report (The most recent, released this month) from the NCSC (The UKs National Cyber Security Centre): ncsc.gov.uk/information/hcsec-ob-report
The report was posted to the UK government website.

They had significant issues then, and they still do today. It's frustrating but understandable to an extent, that we can't even directly investigate the firmware, but that we are relying on Heiwai themselves to create their own cybersecurity branch, which we then have to depend on their assurance that they're independant from Heiwai HQ, and that their information is reliable. The fact we're relying on Heiwai to investigate themselves, and the evidence is still damning, is in itself, proof and reason for major 1st world countries from withdrawing from the deal. It is not all US trade political junk, it is actual fact given by the Horses own mouth.

Oh but let me guess, neither the Cyber Security experts who actually know what they're talking about, nor the branch that Huawei themselves created, can be trusted and they probably don't know what they're talking about either. No I'm sure some random person on the internet is more reliable, because with no reason, evidence, or research, but acts like they have done it and tells others off for it, and has always liked the company and believed in them, knows better.

Glad to see more people are taking a stance here. Just 12 months ago, this website was flooded with support for Huawei.

While I don't think Huawei = bad, I do think their telecom equipment poses a risk simply because of their government system and ideals. They would have no qualms with spying with all their 5g tech.

AlienKiss, 21 Oct 2020Who needs 5G when Starlink is 50% finished and already into... moreSatellite can archive 100mpbs or even 1gbps when there is only a few people using it.This is good for somewhere like Australia and US.Even 3G is enough for that situation since HSPA+ can reach 30Mpbs for only one mobile phone using it.
But in most big cities at East Asia(Tokyo,Seoul and most Chinese big cities),10million or even 30million people live in the same city.4G often downgrade to 20-30Mbps when so many people use it at the same time That is why we need 5G

Nick.B, 21 Oct 2020Ofcourse they will buy US equipment :) What a coincidence! US have no big communication equipment company currently for 5G base station
Most likely they will use Nokia or Ericsson equipment

Who needs 5G when Starlink is 50% finished and already into beta testing? More than 700 satellites are already orbiting earth as we speak.
Granted, it's not 1GB/s, but 100MB/s ANYWHERE on the planet sounds pretty good!
