If they had complete freedom to enter any western market, they'd obviously dominate.

The external Qualcomm modem uses too much power and is the reason for poor battery life of this year's iPhones. It also reduces latency and increases connection speeds between the processor and the modem. Haha.

And those I will see when the chip is out. Otherwise it is simple to make a chip SoC that is big enough to house a modem on one SoC itself. Anyway the Huawei modem does not support all the frequencies (eg : mmwave) that Qualcomm needs to support. That could also be a factor why Qualcomm did not want to include one on the chip. Qualcomm has been making chips with integrated modems for a LONG time, there must be a very very sound technical reason why they did not do it this time around.

Still a good Mate smartphone despite of those downgrades. I hope every users especially social climber ones would not only be hooked up with specs but with the everyday practical usage of a smartphone. Company marketing, media platforms such as YT influencers and the like will just sell it out to you regardless if you need those features or not. LOL.

Back in the day, rooting was easy and worked without going through a bunch of hoops.
