I don't like flat screens. The S20 family with the little curves is already TOO similar to Samsung's middle and low rangers.

1. People don't like cu... moreMany don't make smaller phones because there simply isn't much demand, phones screen sizes may have been getting bigger but they're much easier to use than older phones with large bezels, 16:9 ratio same screen sized phones
Even a phone with 6.7 inch screen is usable now and you also get one handed mode on many phones much makes things even easier
And since phones are getting taller and narrower they fit in more easily in your pockets
Smaller phones is only convenient for carrying around while a bigger phone gives comfortable typing, better media consumption and bigger battery
iPhone 12 mini IMO is way too small especially since it has a taller ratio and typing might be difficult on it
Small phones is only a niche market now, look around you people are buying bigger phones not because they are forced to but because they prefer to
And now with different aspect ratio ideal size changes based on how tall and narrow the aspect ratio like I would prefer a 5.5 inch phone with 16:9 but change the aspect ratio to 19.5:9 and I will prefer a 6.5 or maybe even 7inched phone

2)occupies space on screen, interfere with on screen content
3) same as above
4) looks cool, you can be sure that no app is using your front cam
5) gives peace of mind, even if most phones can handle occasional splashes abd submerges IP rating kind of guarantees your phone will function fine even if submerged for a bit
6) no one needs wireless charging everyone just pretend it is useful honestly if it isn't like MagSafe its just useless

1. It makes the glass more fragile
2. It distorts content at the edges
3. Causes more reflections
4. Causes more accidental touch
5. Display looks faded at the edges
6. Impossible to get a nice and cheap screen protector
7. Makes it hard for cases to protect the front

1. People don't like cu... moreJust my opinion, based on how I use my phone (I have a Galaxy S10+).
1. Is annoying because my palms are on the screen, and so there are a lot of unnintentional touches.
2. C'mon, it takes space from the screen.
3. Same as #2.
4. Because it's not taking space in the front of the phone. You only see it when you need it.
5. Having an IP certified phone means that it was tested to get that certification. If it doesn't have that certification, how do we know it is "waterproof"?
6. For me, it's not a need, but a convenience. It's awesome not having to plug and unplug the phone everytime you want to use it while charging.

i really become sick of this camera holes and other notches. i am still using my old galaxy note 4 and probably it will be my last samsung smartphone. i mean look at xiaomi they are probably gonna mass produce 3rd gen under display front camera in 2021 and look at the samsung with ugly hole in the screen and "25 watt fast charging"

1. Changing from S7 to S10 I loved the curved screen once opening box with the phone. It looks stunning and very high tech. Unfortunately light distortion is pi**ing me off, in a daylight it makes my screen with two extra light lines as this area is gloosy. From time to time accidental touches, just because of that edge. I will def. get my next phone with flat screen.
2. It's just a matter of taste I guess. I HATE HATE HATE notch of apple, ugly long bar that really have no place in phones. Hole on the right side in S10 is a bit annoying as I turn my phone left in portrait mode and keep it in my left hand so it's clearly visible in movies and on pictures. I do prefer some other brands doing it on the left, make so much more sense! But in my opinion the nicest screens are with the pop up camera, yet as there is no IP I would not risk buying one. Therefore for me, clean screen is a thing to go for, so hopefully from next year everybody will copy ZTE Axon 20 5G as this is the way to go! Clean full screen, stunning!
3.As above, if there is a way to make screen as full why would you create notch and cover a part of it. At the beginning It was good resolution but in 2020 ZTE is showing that you do not need that.
4. As above, you have full screen and aesthetic is just on point! Your laptop screen, TV, Tablet, none of them have any notches or holes right? So why would anyone say 'Oh yeah I want to cover my screen with a black bar or a hole, that's great idea!'
5. Had several accidents with my Galaxies and always ended up without any issues, to have IP rating and knowing it's working is better than risk getting a phone without one.
6. No idea... The power loss on those charges are silly, it's literally wasting your energy and NOT charging phone faster than with cable. Hopefully soon everybody (Apple too) will have to go with USB C and then whole world will go properly carbon neutral producing 1 cable and not variety of kinds of it.
This is just my personal opinion, I understand other people will have a different taste.

4. People likes pop up cam - not sure they do, just some manufacturers trying to find a niche
5. People needs IP rating when even the phone is waterproof - because I want my expensive phone to last me as long as possible and my phone gets wet occasionally
6. People needs wireless charging - it's convenient, but I could honestly live without it
what I don't understand is why companies believe that we all need these massive phones, why is it that only Apple makes a 5.4'' normal sized flagship device ?
