Samsung Galaxy S21+ CAD renders show the same camera as the S21 and a flat screen

23 October 2020
Only the Ultra will feature a curved screen and a different camera setup. The flat screen makes the S21+ slightly wider than the S20+.

Aw, no headphone jack for the S21. I saw some news about them bringing back the headphone jack on flagships as an experiment to see if that would help sell more devices and I thought they're going to do that.

      I like it!

Also, the Notch isn't older than the iPhone X (Apple invented it) and Essential PH-1 (first to commercialize it) which is from half 2017 while the first Punch Hole appear on the Honor View 20 and is from end 2018, so not so much time difference here.
Not like the difference between the first Smartphone fingerprint scanner and the first Smartphone underdisplay fingerprint scanner who both have a huge age difference.

I'm really starting to like the look of regular S21 (S30) and plus model.

                Flat screen = perfection.
                Screen protectors fit.
                No accidental touches.
                No distorted content.
                No discoloration.
                No excessive glare.

S10e has served me well, but finally I'll be able to buy full size Samsung Galaxy flagship phone with a flat screen after all those years.

AnonD-948658, 23 Oct 2020Right. I don’t understand what’s wrong with a bit of bezel ... moreI don't mind bezels, the Galaxy S8/S9 have amazing top bezel, it isn't too big and it have a lot of sensors, Iris scanner and with the same setup, an awesome 3D facial recognition + Iris Scanner (they work the same way, so the same hardware could do both) could easily be implemented.
Personally I prefer pop up camera for their added privacy and retaining face unlock (and if manufacturers weren't stupid, actual 3D facial recognition too) while not butchering the display, though what I would really prefer is for no front camera at all and simply flipping our wrist to expose our face to the main camera and Depth Sensor(s) for 3D Face Unlock.

Gauron, 23 Oct 2020Soon the camera "island" on smartphones will beco... moreAlmost exact, in fact we could only get a single sensor doing the job of all the 5 (Wide, Ultrawide, Telephoto, Portrait, Macro) with some clever Periscope design, here is an exemple I made as a concept (only a sketch for the moment, I work on a more realistic and more space friendly variant) :
                              https://imgur.com/a/sYvq5tn
That + one or two 3D ToF Flash LiDAR type and you have a phone with amazing capabilities with a single sensor.

Also, if you want to combine the Macro with something, you really want it combined with the Telephoto and not the Ultrawide, this is the stupidest photography mistake ever to combine a Macro and an Ultrawide, those two are like day and night while the Macro already share many important requirement with what regular Telephoto (mainly the Periscope style) already have.
Don't be fooled by the difference between dedicated Macro and Macro mode on Ultrawide, most Macro are only 2Mp and some are 5Mp but nothing more, meanwhile Ultrawide are often 12Mp or even much higher, the better result you see is only from the better resolution, but at equal resolution, the dedicated Macro would do a way better job, and combining it with a Telephoto wouldn't actually change anything, even with the exact same minimum focus distance and depth of field the Telephoto would be a clear winner, and with periscope Telephoto, it is totally faisable to implement a super close minimum focus distance with a short depth of field.

HoldEm, 23 Oct 2020Thick bezel in 2020 only a few will buy.But I also doubt people buying phones with extremely thin bezels. Prone to accidental touches in landscape mode especially during mobile gaming.
