Any chip from 6xx is more than enough.
Do not come with excuse it cannot run games.
636 and above are stronger than 810 that's pretty capable of any app.

Loved this piece.
I'm on a Redmi Note 9S and with a great experience.
One thing to remember is that some people like myself buy phones for the family, so it's hard to justify paying 1000 bucks for a single device when I can buy one for each of my folks spending half that sum.

All the people who are saying that we already have enough power never tried running emulators on their phones or actual good wireless VR games with sufficient framerates

It all depends on your needs. Other people, especially gamers, want their phones to be fast. While other non-gamer people, like me, don't need a flagship chipset. Other features like stereo speakers or OIS on camera is more important to me than high-end chipset.

I've upgraded this year from a redmi note 3(sd650) to a poco f1(old but gold), just because kenzo died and the only noticeable difference for everyday use is the screen having a cutout and being taller.

It's still necessary WE must never WAIT until the power is needed
Develop the technology so it exists we can have breakthroughs that revolutionize sometimes from even accidents
Let's not get comfortable just because currently midrange performance seems "enough"

Hm, not true. The thing is there is too much of a gap between mid-range and high-end chips.
How about putting a 4 big and 4 small cores in it, but clock them 15% lower and cut the GPU in half, but keep the process node.
The end result will be perfect.
Biggest overkill with SD865 class chips is the GPU. Nobody needs that computing power in their phone.
SD660 had that back in the day and was sensational! People with it didn't need to upgrade until 765!

except flagship phones actually get updates, both officially and unofficially through XDA. low/mid range phones are dead the second they come out.

Awesome read. This is why I can't wait to see more Dimmensity 1100 phones (taking a guess at the next one's name) next year. That performance is solid, efficiency is great, and they price those processors perfectly.
I hope more of these phones make it to the US (LG opened that door). Even Razer could consider a lighter gaming phone with one.

Smart phones are no longer necessary. Nokia 3310 has it all.!
Of course the hardware is necessary.! Unless you only use the phone for social media.
