AMD has had Linux in the bag and checked out for sone time now lol. Why because it's ooen source.

Might want to go check your facts son, cause almost anyone who knows linux enough knows its easier better to have an amd card in linux

DantE O2, 30 Oct 2020depends on the use. for gaming nothing beats intel plus i ... moreYou saying that AMD "only consumes more power" shows that you're stuck in the past. When you look at the Ryzen 5000 series, it is superior in both efficiency and performance - in gaming as well. We'll see how close the rx6000 GPUs come to their power ratings, but given the terrible efficiency of the rtx 3080 and 3090, you can bet that the rx6800xt and 6900xt respecively won't consume more.

[deleted post]No actually Nvidia was in panic mode since the consoles was shown the first time, they paper launched the 3000-series without proper stockpile of chips! The board partners did not even have time to properly prepare a decent cooler for these... :I

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2020Never faced any issues with nvidia.Maybe it was a particular issue with the ROG Strix model. I had like 5 failed driver updates and had to reinstall them completely. Happens.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2020Durability like 8GB VRAM on the 3070? Being a fanboy is jus... moreAMD prices are into the roof cause they lowered the stock.
if you weren't a fanboy you knew that miners empty the market and that's why call cards have unreal prices not just nvidia well ofc miners mostly get the better cards which means nvidia on top of their lists.
you say 3080 has drivers issues and no one has it to talk about it
well AMD drivers issues last even when many have it ! so it sucks way worse.

you are just another AMD fanboy no one can find one sentence out of reason or logic in your post so it shows.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2020Dude you pay for stability and durability not for only speed.Durability like 8GB VRAM on the 3070? Being a fanboy is just irrational since everyone benefits from competition. Nvidia for me had unreliable drivers for a year. They also messed up the 3080 drivers but since noone has that card you didn't hear much about it.

And since Nvidia is driving up prices by artifically limiting stock, the 3070 goes for €799 in Germany, think about that. Nobody needs to be a fanboy and dismiss offerings from competitors when this is happening.

AMD = Xiaomi. Intel & Nvidia = Apple & Samsung. Until very recently Xiaomi fanboys vehemently attacked anybody who dared to buy iPhone or Samsung phone, proclaiming that Xiaomi will destroy Apple and Samsung in a few years and become the global mobile brand #1. Now that dust has settled, we know that Apple & Samsung remain the global leaders in mobile market, while Xiaomi remains the same noname low quality brand nobody apart from a handful of loyal fanboys care about. Exactly the same happens now with AMD and AMD fanboys. LOL

[deleted post]The benchmarks look very promising and they are significantly cheaper especially 6900xt and consumes less power which means you are not only saving on GPU but psu too...they are also smaller and consume less power

[deleted post]Yeah but they are very big and consumes a lot of power whereas AMD's GPUs are smaller and consumes less power . So You are not only saving on GPU but PSU too.

Black Heart, 29 Oct 2020Yes , I think because AMD was almost burnt alive last time ... moreRDNA was a dramatic departure from GCN. It was also relatively early when AMD started getting their s**t together. RDNA2 is based on RDNA2. AMD also has far more resources now and they are going at it with full force. The Infinity Cache is a relatively new approach so there can be some issues expected or performance gains not there yet, but foundation, the RDNA is quite mature now and I'm not expecting much trouble beyond usual with every new card launch.
