30 October 2020
Rainbow will be a flagship on par with the V-series. B Project will have a rollable display, it's part of the same line as the LG Wing.

if its the first day or the last day of your warranty doesn't really make a difference
where I come from the bound by law to honor the 2y warranty
that's just standard for any company

I have been waiting for a successor to my V30, but all i have seen past 3 years have been utter disappointments. All same, annoying, no differences. It was enough to make a huge phone enthusiast like me, look away and drop my hobby and love for them. LG was my all time favorite, and i have good reasons to love and trust them. People that dont know much about companies, nor experience, should not even be allowed to comment. Wing got released, in this era of SAME boring phones, just plain power. I have owned numerous flagships over time, and it all just started being extremely annoying. I want something new, something different. And i am not talking about types of phones that do bring something different, but make it cost a fortune, even tho unworthy of it, just taking advantage of the opportunity they have found. Make phones innovative again, make them affordable. Not everyone prefers to buy phones with contract and pay for them montly. And most of the people that own expensive flagships actually have them with contracts so they dont even care about prices, and they go for Samsung and Apple phones. LG is not a perfect company by any means, and just coz i am a huge fan doesnt mean i will ignore or deny their flaws. But every single company out there has them, but they are forgiven, ignored and not spoken about. I have been repairing phones for a long time now, and i have had by far many more cases of Samsung bootlooped devices and motherboard failiures than any other manufacturer. But noone talks about those, and people still very often bring up LG motherboard failiures. LG is trying hard and they deserve the credit, they deserve to succeed. I am not happy about the decision for ODM devices, but at the same time i am, coz they have to focus on the flagship devices themselves, and if they think they cant work on all devices at the same time, then be it. They have a bright future they deserve and more people should respect them.

Or the people who do not purchase phones outright because they think the phone that comes with their data plan of 2 years is cheap or free.

Joe, 31 Oct 2020Sorry i dont trust LG PHONES. tbey freeze and not reliable.... morePersonally I have found LG to be exceptionally reliable. The LG G3, V20 and V30 have given me a great experience over the years.
When I did have an issue with my V20 screen one week before the 2 year warranty expired, LG South Africa replaced it without any issue.
My LG V30 on which I'm typing now has provided 3 years of trouble free performance.
Looking forward to the Wing or the V70 soon with the Quad DAC naturally.

Yuri84, 30 Oct 2020So LG has decided they want to experiment with ultra-niche ... moreUltra niche? Well I'd be more than happy to own ultra niche phones instead of those 99 million smartphones from 99 million smartphone brands with the same boring generic design over and over and over again.

At least I don't think the Velvet 2 should be manufactured by ODMs.

Yuri84, 30 Oct 2020So LG has decided they want to experiment with ultra-niche ... moreUnlike the other A company, removing stuff to make more profit and people applauded it.

When this launches, a bunch of people will start questioning its durability.

what a shame, they were at the top in audio rec/play performance and in camera controls and features. Their poor camera hw was their downfall.
They should come with reasonable price too, if they want to compete. Having fan base is more important for them now, more than money, even if they went red.
That is if they want to be back with a bang.

Moving major manufacturing to ODMs will post threat to quality of LG as Brand.. 🙄

So LG has decided they want to experiment with ultra-niche products and nothing else? Cool, I guess. Goodbye, LG mobile division, it was nice knowing you.

Well, my old design proposal is like this. A three horizontal gold gives a note pleasing traditional tablet shape and size in a small phone. That is more worth it.

The new V series. Let's have some real visually lossless data rates for weddings and real-estate sales. 12 bit, ProRes or raw or other 4:2:2/4:4:4. 8kp50. That would be a real flagship. At $600, maybe very sellable

Nice step with the new phones on plans however for V 70 the should improve on the cameras even with periscope formation. Also the company should reverts back to older display with Dolby Vision and Digital technology together with HDR +. The new UI would be welcomed with 6.7 inch display. The rollable is good but I'm not to okay because it would cost a fortune $3500 price tag
