Yeah the Kirin 9000 matches the SD875's GPU performance by using the highest number of cores in the Mali G78, and we all know how bad it is at efficiency when such configuration is used, so this tie is only good for a few minutes before the Kirin starts throttling like the Apple A14 does.
This is exactly the best part on Qualcomm's chipsets. They design theirs to have extremely long sustain capabilities, which makes them the best choice for current Android devices.
How the tables have turned, that they were once being the worst at thermal performance from just a few years ago to now offering the most efficient processors in the modern day.
