Quick switch to stock Android? Count me in! I always favour clean stock UI over any custom UI all day long.

nigel, 03 Nov 2020Um. How about Google Pixel series? You're wrong bro.You are seriously holding up the Pixel series as a success story for stock android? Pixels have always been terrible phones with numerous hardware issues and terrible battery with an exorbitant price. The only good thing was the camera and the software support. Outside of those YouTube reviewers, the actual consumers don't like Pixels. Hence why it failed miserably and Google have now resorted to making cheaper phones which still will only really sell in US markets.

Best android imho is using the stock android then add the useful features it lacks. Something like oneplus and asus do on their phones but I wouldn't call those 2 perfect yet. They can still be improved.

nigel, 03 Nov 2020Um. How about Google Pixel series? You're wrong bro.Google's phones include Pixel-exclusive features not found on other Android/Android One phones.
Exclusive features that aren't available on stock Android definitely means it's not stock Android. And the Pixel phones have a ton of those.

I bought the Vivo Neo3 earlier this year and its OS is completely garbage. It keeps asking me permission to access my location, data, camera etc, even some basic app and a lot of user unfriendly message popping up. I hope it simply offer a stock android OS to begin with.

Cool, but if that "switch" to the stock Android also strips away all the unique, useful features that their custom skin has, no thanks.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2020Than explain why all phones with stock Android and Android ... moreThat was sarcasm...
Someone pointed at this, asking why there's not more devices with stock Android. I replied with the numerous failed attempts at bringing this vision to life.

nigel, 03 Nov 2020Um. How about Google Pixel series? You're wrong bro.One of the largest companies in the world and the one that makes Android and get hyped and reviewed a lot couldn't enter the top ten Smartphone brands in the world (by sales). I consider this as failing

AnonD-558092, 02 Nov 2020That'd be cool. How could we call that? Google Play ed... moreHahahaha, no. Many companies such as Nokia are doing that already, and they aren't exactly winning. Stock Android is not nearly as fast, nor as practical as most other customizations. The most popular of which being Samsung's.

Maybe the switch just disabled the custom UI and uses stock Android UI. If only the stock one comes without preloaded apps, that would be great.

No doubt these would sell like hotcakes and become so ubiquitous that customized Android versions would disappear in less than 3 years

Wait what? Vivo is using stock Android now? I find that quite amusing. If Origin OS ends up as a rebranded Funtouch OS or just another generic Chinese Android skin, I'd prefer stock Android over that...not that I hate the former but it's uncommon to see the latter nowadays, only being available to Oneplus, Nokia, Google, Motorola and Sony. Too bad they're overpriced so I wouldn't get it.

Hot take: custom android is better than stock android minus the bloatware.
