What GMSarena missed here is that its a CMOS module with highest ISO 1600 level and its 10% slimmer than the current 5-megapixel solutions on the market.Cheers!

Ok Ok 8 MP but thin is pretty much always bad quality i rather a bulky camera like the n95 that feels and takes pictures like a real camera. The qualty of the pictures are goin to sux for an 8MP camera. Bet my last bottom $$$

I have a SE K850i (I think it rocks, camera is amazing!), and I don't think you can tell the diffrence from it and 8MP, so I don't care. And can I point out too H0T SH0T this:

No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand will get you banned

So stop having a go at Nokia!

They are making it for others. So that everyone can have 8mp cam next year. Lol.
As far as Samsung is concerned yes they do have upto 10mp in korea for long time, but not this thin. Cheers!

I wonder what will be the sensor then. CCD? or still the mediocre CMOS... if it's the latter better stop dreaming :)

For Jon2: because regular people buy products that have more and more megapixels: to show off in front of their friends that have "only" 5 MP, to gain attention from opposite sex/potential partners, to "raise" on social scales. The memory-card industry surely benefits from this MP race, people will have to buy larger capacity cards to store their huge pictures. As in digital camera industry, the most insignificant feature in the eyes of people/manufacturers is the picture quality. Sadly.

Okay.. Thats nice from Samsung.. But as we all know a human eye can only see 3 megapixels.. So it dosent really matter if its 3 or 8.. The thing that counts is the lins, image processing, autofocus and stuff..
