The mere mention of Nokia and Windows Phone and you get over 100 comments. A simple article about the iphone's sim card and a button and you get almost 50 comments, most likely it will double in a few hours. The Android fanboys are trolling there. If you still think Apple trolls outnumber Android trolls then your just ignoring the facts.

Everyone appears to be getting lost in the details of the protocol and technicality and completely forget or ignore the fundamental question.

Sorry but every modern mobile device design, especially tablets, was born off the flat panel TV's and monitors - their big brother. And here is why...

Whether you are an industrial designer or an ordinary person, could someone please explain why my iPad2 (or all of the modern tablets and smartphones) looks "extremely the same" as flat panel TV's and monitors (except the base stand and size) that existed since the very early part of the last decade (way before 2005)?. That's way before 2007, which a lot of under drinking age fans think is when the mobile age/technology started... That thin glossy piano black bezel surrounding the four sides of a large display area with a logo or single button on the front was popularized by Samsung and became de-facto standard in flat panel displays that you see everywhere these days.

If you are an industrial designer, how would you design a portable entertainment device (tablet/smartphone) with the emphasis on display? Triangle? Square? Octagon? Why? When you already have a very well established and practical design set by the tablet's big brother, which is flat screen TV/Monitor. If you can't believe it, put your tablet next a flat panel device and see for yourself. Remember, whether they admit it or not, industrial designers are human beings and they take cues from their surroundings, especially from things they see and use everyday. Who doesn't have a flat panel TV or monitor at home or office...???

Unless one chooses to ignore or refuses to admit, anyone with some common sense and/or intelligence can see this...

iphone is the mother of all copy, even the name 'iPad' has to copy from a Chinese company & have to pay US60 million in court case. Shame on you Apple

Apple lawyers certainly play "facts" fast. A moment ago they tell the court that iphone was Sony inspired. Now they claim that it was from a concept iPad.

Samsung claim that they have the F700 phone which the iphone resembles, far before iphone was announced. Can the F700 be inspired by something that was announced later? And the galaxy phones resemble the F700 phone. So who is copying who? Does it really matter???

Everybody is talking about Apple, but what about Palm? and Adobe? When you join these two technologies you get the Ipad features with the real hand! Unfortunately Palm never think about using the touch instead of the pen and Adobe never go further with the little hand to make it work in an external screen like the Ipad! For me these companies are one of the source of inspiration for Apple also. They are the heroes of innovation.
