The first big announcement will be in the Spring of 2021.

Always been a fan of Sony products, however the smartphone produced by Sony have been poor. I hope that the drone will not be over priced because of the Sony badge.

However It will need to out perform it rivals in the camera department, and it must match the performance of dji drones. If not I will just be another fail Sony product, just like all Sony phones.

The king of foto-video sensors not to have drones?! The replacement of GoPro with a Sony device should be also considered by its engineers! Good move!

[deleted post]Why stop something that is still running fine? It should no longer be your concern if Sony as a whole has enough funds to sustain this new drone lineup and their phone division at the same time.

If only you understand how the Xperia 5 II has the best battery life for a 120Hz display with just mere 4000mAh battery, then you wouldn't even have to say such things.

imparanoic, 10 Nov 2020my 2018 sony android tv does not have any issues, have you ... moreWell, mine does. Absolutely no side-loaded apps, since the whole Android itself is bad enough. Not sure what Sony did to ruin it so badly, but they have tried to patch the issues with a couple of updates. They did nothing, except change the look of the UI. And not even a factory reset helps, so... It is what it is, I guess. My first and definitely last TV by Sony. The funniest thing is that their best amp will not play nice with the TV, no matter what! :D

Not only that, but the Japanese are finally starting to get creative again, after a decade of stagnation. And this comes from another J-tech fan. Haha but yeah, it sure will be pricey.

Sony have experimented with Professional Drones before, not sure what came out of it.
but they experiment with plane like drones for geo surveys.

maybe there are aspects of drone market not being used or focused by the rivals, imagine, placing your drone outside your house, then turn on your playstation 4/playstation 5 to control the sony drone whilst indoor, using your playstation4/5 controller.

It's the preferred way to share files and communicate between fellow students or instructors. That also applies with Google. Google and FB has become essential to their academic lives. It may be useless and silly to you but I'm sure a lot of students will disagree.

[deleted post]Maybe I didn't make myself clearly enough. When I said I don't own a drone myself, what I really meant was I have no clue of the drone market as such and I was only going off what I see on sites like Amazon and the like where drones are offered. To me, there is already a lot of brands selling drones - that's the only point I was making. Nothing to do with if any of them offered one day's worth of fun lol

So if this is anything like my TV by Sony and their top-of-the-line amplifier, this thing will not fly even once without hardware or at least software issues creating some sort of a problem.

Since this is Sony, we already know this ain't going to be cheap. Just look the the prices you have to pay for Japanese tech, and that's coming from a Sony/Japanese fan.
Also, I don't have a drone myself, but isn't it a bit of a late entry to the drone market which is already filled with numerous manufacturers? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wow. I like drone and with Sony camera, it would be incredible. Keep the price down so it will be good.

I'd rather have my banking app and NFC on my phone than silly useless FB or Wassup.

Wow, Sony now planning to create a drone? That's cool!
