Each phone brand (constructor) has their own set of styles, strengths, and weaknesses. Its just a matter of taste and preferences.
Although I have to agree with the others, moto is falling behind. They mostly come out stylish on the outside but not on the inside.

Yeah, i agree with igor. Motorola's weakness is truly being late and oblivious to change. But the others have weaknesses too.

I don't know why people complains that much on this or other constuctor !
I think this is because people can not find the perfect phone...
iphone : 2G only
nokia : poor design
samsung : phone copier
LG : software weakness
moto : always late
SE : seperate features into mobile brands

Nice.very very nice.seems like motorola is trieng to sink their own boat.
although i aint a frequent motorola user but i hate to see them going down.
only thing i can say is moto is re-inventing the wheels again and again.
Moto please come back with a nice balanced cellphone,

Seriously, there's so many people anticipating the wait of the Z10. Is this Motorola'a way of postponing the Z10, yet once again. Sooner or later people are going to lose interest and move on to another company/phone. It's getting me to re-think getting the Z10 or maybe I can buy it for my kids, when I have one in the far future. Bottom line, Hurry Up motorola on releasing your already announced phones.

Motorola fails yet again. How does a company repeatedly make the same mistakes? In the beginning they crushed all with the StarTac, got cocky, got crushed by the Finish and Japanese. Circa 2004, they bring out the best selling handset in the history of mobiles, only to fail to learn from their lessons and not continue to evolve. 45mb of memory? 2mp camera? Pretty sure I once had a V3x with the same stats, but that was in '05. Can't wait to see what the new CEO will do. Hopefully they can bail water and save this sinking ship.

The Z9 is pretty much a mid-high tier phone, not a top of the line smart phone but rather a sexy looking phone with a lot of neat and NEEDED features.
While the other companies crank up those megapixels (which by the way, doesn't mean that higher megapixels mean better picture quality, these just ENLARGE the pictures), Motorola is doing well on the hardware side. Seriously a lot of companies copy some of Motorola's designs and even though these designs are a bit repetitive, Motorola RARELY copies designs from others. It just copies itself to say the least.
All in all, the Z9 is a good phone with great features, not a lot of EXTRAS which people don't bother anyways.

This is going to be free with 2 years contract I assume. Thats how Moto plays in US. No one bothers much about features and all when its free, right!?!.

At the end, it's still like an American car; Japanese ones are still better.
This same repetitive Motorola design and model is getting a bit annoying and sad...
^^i agree with that:P
but what about European Phones Nokia?

Wow! What a break through in design... in 2001 perhaps... :-)
I'm gonna 'borrow' what somebody said somehere about Motorola:

Well, its a cool phone... Anyway, there is not much different if compare it to a phone with 8gb internal storage or 8gb external storage... The 8gb internal will make the price higher (using micro HDD) and will very disguiting when its broken! Using external is better, for example, u can have two or three 8gb card if u want and the phone+8gb card wont have a higher prices than the 8gb internal storage phone, also if its broken, just buy a new card... More simple...
Camera also not a priority for mobile phone... Rather than resolution, the feature like autofocus or macro is much more effect the photos...unfortunately, i dont see this thing in Z9...
However, the design and everything is looks good enough...and its a Motorola! U know, as always, its a solid phone! Unlike Nokia, especially their slider or clamshell, so crapy and made by a cheap plastic that can be easily broken...

I'm starting to think that the real design issue is that Moto are trying to release the same models in CDMA and GSM forms to control USA market completely
