@stu I confirm what you say cause i've a Amstrad DC100 it's 3.5 mp , but my friends samsung E730 make better pictures than my camara. Anyway, i prefer personally, a nice design with metal than lot of mega pixel with plastic. yes, cause i think that people don't realise that with a QVGAscreen you can't see the difference bwen a 5mp pic and a 2 or 3,2mp pic, right? But the design and the plastic yes

Man, in Europe it's the other way round - Nokia is a safe phone for consumers while Motorola is for those who want a complete phone. Compared to Motorola menus and features, the equally-priced Nokias look like they're hollow inside. Similar to motorcycles, I guess... your police rides Harleys and our police rides BMWs. Here, Harley is a status symbol and in the USA it's a BMW motorcycle.

ok guys all this is true -- for us who like the cell phones so much that we actually read news about it -- but the other 95% of population (especially USA where majority of people get phone with the plan and whatever is offered by carrier) would go and buy it. and honestly how many people you see (again is USA -- and that's the main market for this phone) carry se, nokias and so on -- probably only yourself and your friends. but the average folks have razr, rizr, blackberry, iphone and so on. That's a low end phone for mass consumer. Discussing it is like saying authentic restaurant is better than mc donalds -- hell yeah but compare the sales.
cheers

I agree! When will Motorola wake up and see the market that it's losing making almost all of its phones same both in hardware and software... That makes me sick! ¬¬
Luck me I own a Nokia N95, with S60 V3 as OS.

When are people gonna realize that having a 5mp or 3mp camera doesn't automatically mean your going to take better photos. I've seen 1.3mp cameras take better photos than 3mp cameras.

@ Lu!
no sry i cant see how you have helped anyone.
motorola could put in a camera with more pixels but will be still be affordable than a 2mp? i agree that people doesnt really uses its cameraphone as a REAL camera...people would buy a REAL digital camera instead...they are not expensive.
Most people just likes a camera on their cellphones just as a bonus feature just in case something interesting happens.

I have never owned a Motorolla, but my friends have had them, and had some very bad experiences. In my opinin, they are miles behind Sony Erricsons and Nokia's (Samsungs, Lg's too). They aren't making anything really diffrent to what came out 2 years ago.
I have to say, a two MP camera is quite poor, but I'm sure after the Kodaks they will inprove, but I think at least a 3.2 MP would be expected. It's good however they have added flash and a potrait mirror. It's a music phone, so if you want a camera phone, buy an SE or a Nokia (Samsung and LG also have brilliant cameras).
The next problem I have with this phone is it's a dedicated music Phone, with only 45mb memory. I would therefore say you need a large memory card, and I would not be suprised if they put a memory card in the box, or improve it before its avalible. However it is good that you can put a 8GB card, even though it's expensive (the cheapest I found was £37.81).
The design is alright. I think Motorolla phones are a tad to thin, and I quite dislike the key-pads, I don't know wehether (sorry, I am only 12, I still have trouble spelling) this would be better. I like the shiny front, even though it would attract finger prints, and I like the music Keys. I find the noise on Motorolla's good, but a little tinny. I think Sony Erricson and LG are slightly ahead (It might just be me, but he music Player on the Chocolate was good! Might just be me though! LOL).
All in all, I quite like it, but I wouldn't buy it! I have my Sony Erricson K850i, and even though it is a bit more, I would go for it!
Hope I've helped!

If you're going to bash at least bash with info. Camera phones are cool, yes, but not an OBSESSION with most of the population, let's face it, how many of you actually use your phone as a *camera* in the whole sense of the word, I'm sure you just take the fun with friends pic, or the cool looking self portrait, or the Oh look there's a pidgeon that looks like my aunt kind of thing.
This phone is a great offer with solid metalic (seems so) body, a rich screen and excellent for CALLS wich is pretty much the point of a phone, Just try the Crystal talk and you'll see what I mean. So will this phone take the astounding pidgeon pic? Yeah. Let's just say that this phone is music oriented, since the storage is clearly microSDHC and the dedicated buttons and whatnot. Trust me, this player is MUCH faster than Walkman series or Ultra edition stuff, I've owned them so I'm not bluffing. My Motorola K3 is my everyday mp3 player, surpassing my w880i and my D900 among other flashy but useless devices, and the K3 wasn't intended as a mainly music solution! It's as simple as if you don't like it, don't buy it ;) Peace out.
