wongwatt, 10 Nov 2020I'd love to see a proper, fully featured, flagship usi... moreThey still have one problem, video encoding and video quality on general, they just started partnering with other companies and start-ups to fix their video, so we will probably start seeing the results in mid 2021, hopefully when they lunch a proper flagship soc with 5nm.

L.O.R.D, 10 Nov 2020It's been too long they launched a proper chip outside... moreYou can just import though. I'm in Ireland and I'm using a vivo iqoo z1 powered by the mediatek dimensity 1000. Great phone in many regards but spoilt by the terrible software and there's no global rom for it just the Chinese one.

Powerful and fast at first. But what about its update support and durability/stability? Snapdragon is more durable and stable even after few years. I've used both/I'm not a hater.

It's been too long they launched a proper chip outside of China. For the rest of the world, they're still selling modified versions of the same old G90 chipset which is becoming too old by now. They'll launch a new chip, but question is, will it see a wider availability ?

Kirin/Huawei is DEAD outside China.
Samsung Tab S is WAY overpriced.
There is a huge gap in the Android tablet market (No, I don't need NOR want an iPad with it's limitations and lack of an adult web browser and ad blocking).

Anonymous, 10 Nov 2020please Mediate...no more exynos overheat problem..
stay aw... moreFirst of all they mean similar as far as arm cores and using mali gpu.
Second the exynos soc was overall superior compared to snapdragon from galaxy s1 up to galaxy s8.
It's only s9, s10, s20 where things changed.
Even from s1 to s8 mali gpu was better a couple times.
And now next exynos samsung is going back to regular arm cores which will eliminate most of the power and heat issues.
So next?

tkSteveFOX, 10 Nov 2020Wouldn't make much sense not to use G78 and A78 cores.... moreBecause the g77 is super strong and powerful still. While also costing less compared to the g78. Which clearly low budget is the aim. And g77 on budget is more than plenty. It's the next best thing to the g78 but in something that would cost around $300.

Wouldn't make much sense not to use G78 and A78 cores.
Can't reach 600,000 points on the old G77, just not feasible.
Standard 4xA78+4xA55 and perhaps G78MP12-16 clocked at higher frequency.

I hope they bring it outside of China, Realme 'just' teased/asked about bringing the X7 Pro to India, but still no news after more than a month. I really wanted to get one of the first phones w/ Dim.1000, the Reno 3 5G w/ Dimensity 1000L, but that too didn't make it out of CCP land.
I really want top shelf SoC for under $350, so that I can upgrade my Z2 Plus which I bought for ~$200.

I'd love to see a proper, fully featured, flagship using a Mediatek chipset but even the Chinese manufacturers seem to treat them as inferior.
The Dimensity 1000+ is a decent SOC but it only appears in compromised price sensitive devices like the Realme X7 Pro.
