They have virtually zero stock left in China so it is the only viable option. Most major Chinese retailers are out of stock of every honor phone and the ones that do have stock are mostly only ones with mediatek chips

I don't think it would matter, people who will run Honor are still the bosses of Huawei. I don't think they'll allow honor to be diluted.

This is second time an industry leader has been systematically sabotaged by the American government. Last time it's was by Stephen Eloop, now Trump

Huawei is taking the nokia road, selling / separating phone and network equipment business. I guess Lesson for new entrepreneurs, really focus on profit in one revenue stream, or aim for atleast 3. Not 2, one will drag another down. TMI i am just a keyboard warrier.

Wily2020, 10 Nov 2020"Such a lying company that you can't believe shit... moreExactly when this was said weeks ago Huawei denied it and said it would never happen and now what??
Same with how HongMeng would be out on mobile devices but then changed it and said to smart tvs.
You cant believe anything Huawei says, there will still be ties with chinese government and Huawei/Honor
Nothing will change

"We don't comment on rumors" or something in that context. Lying is never the answer. But, Huawei can't help it, right? It's entire foundation is based on scrutiny, right?!

There's nothing weird handling it like that, that's how it usually goes with business, until it's official companies are silent or they deny it happening.

SteveFOX, 10 Nov 2020Not just that, but Huawei don't have enough chips to f... moreThat shouldn't lead to a sellout, though, because Huawei don't have enough in-house chips.
Vivo, etc. don't have their own chips but they outsource their chips from Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Samsung just like everyone else in the Android ecosystem.
Nah, the Huawei we "knew" will never be the same.
Just look at the Mate 40 series as a blueprint, its ridiculous price tag like they really think they are a premium brand just because of a few cameras that's made by Sony.
Sure, their camera RYYB filter and camera software tweaks is designed(?) by Huawei but do wireless charging, fast-charging, etc. little perks justify an extra $600+ premium tag to the phone that has no GMS, unquestionable future, etc?!
Hell no!

Such a lying company that you can't believe shit from anyone from that "bootcamp" business(?).
Speculation for a while, all Huawei's executives denied such a move. Now this.
No one really cares about Honor, though, it's just the principle that when the executives were asked, they just sraight-up lied.
Everyone wants to say, even the media, that Huawei's smartphone business is only a small fraction of its yearly growth.
Apparently, its more than just a fraction if the budget brand is selling for that large amount.
I mean, what proof do anyone have that Huawei's smartphone business is even more profitable than its network business? Hearing it from Huawei (A KNOWN LIAR? confirms it now?
Good luck with that false "growth" numbers.
Bahahaha!
