This is a statistics lesson. Apple sells only about 5 models and they are a big seller so its logical that one of its models hit #1. On the other hand the smartphone market is dominated by Android so it follows that the majority of sales are Android phones distributed among the dozens of models that Samsung, Huawei, Xioami, Nokia, Motorola, Redmi, etc EACH sell..So just like cars there are people with $$$$ who buy overpriced Teslas, Porsches and BMWs and the rest of us who buy fairly priced cars with the more features. The iPhone 12 will be a big seller no doubt but my Xioami Mi 10 lite 5G already has 5G, OLED, in-screen fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, 6GB RAM, notification LED, dual physical sim, a pre-installed screen protector, a fast charger, FM radio, USB-C, 4160 mAh battery, an IR blaster for controlling TVs, and a basic case, all for £250.

Yes Apple is best selling because it is bought to be traded as commodities for profit. Also note that always the lowest Apple model appeared and the higher end is not even in the chart.

They buy it coz they are extremely happy with it.
200$ smartphones from Android have high refresh rate screen, bigger battery, faster charging, better customizations and features that even the most expensive iPhone lacks.
They compare tiny iPhone SE and then compare it to a 200-300Euro Android, Android meets all their requirements. Only another fool will pay more for an inferior iPhone SE.

That number itself is small since 348 million phones were sold in total in Q3 2020.
I already proved how it is a small minority when you compare it to total number of phones sold.

Everything apart from iPhone SE had a 6.5 inch screen size on average.
Which proves majority of the people want nothing to do with tiny screens.

And most of those sales weren't for the tiny screen, they were coz it had an Apple logo on the back at affordable prices. There's no shortage of people flaunting an iPhone in certain countries even if it means buying the most cheapest or outdated model.

To much competition, to many companies pushing the design even for their lowest priced phones.

Apple can get away with recycling iPhone designs because it has no IOS competitor, whereas companies such as Samsung is feeling the heat from Oppo/vivo, hauwei, xiaomi etc. There is just too much competition for Android OEMs to be comfortable and complacent.

Well, I'm one of the "tiny minority" who loves phones that fit in your pocket. Bought a new phone that has 6.5 screen (would have gone for Pixel 4a, but it's not available here) and for me it seems strangely drawn out. No wonder people buy huge phones - the only smaller ones are expensive iPhones, Pixels which are not for everyone, even if they are available in your region, and Samsung s10e. Maybe there are some others but these are exceptions.

iPhone SE 2020 been very popular among android switchers. It's nice to see Apple getting to lower price point so more android users can enjoy the great iOS experience. Sometimes i hope Apple would release $200 iPhone so lot of android users wouldn't have to be forced to buy those crappy androids which they of course buy only because iPhone is out of reach of majority of android buyers.

                                        [deleted post]Jackers christ, how lethargic.

So you can't counter the fact that THE SECOND HIGHEST SELLING PHONE being 4.7" is smaller than 5.5", meaning that there is a market for it, and also completely ignoring the fact there is such a minimal amount of phones that are smaller than 5.5", so of COURSE the SE makes up a small number. But they're the second highest selling phone!

Let's ignore the fact that you said "a small majority" (that's just an oxymoron, bro)
