I've always prefered kirin over Qualcomm snapdragons. Not only kirin is better in heat management but it's also less prone to viruses since it is not as popular.

A number of intelligence services have opined on the matter and there is a reason why there is a general agreement on the fact that Huawei cannot be trusted to provide networks that impact national security for the liberal democracies.

Honestly that wouldn't stop Huawei from offering 5G phones so this is very good news! Just less efficient 5G.. they just need to combine a 4G Qualcomm chip and a Balong 5000 5G chip!

The larger impediment is still Google services tho.. wonder if the Biden admin will do anything different.

The 5G ban was to protect Qualcomm. Qualcomm knew they were to be over taken by Huawei in the 5G phones/tablets. However, Qualcomm feared the most is in the always connected laptops market. Actions had to be taken against Huawei.

The truth is Qualcomm would lose over 30% sales if they couldn't sell to Huawei and that would be bad for US both economy and investments on new Qualcomm techs. But Huwei investments on new techs this year was as much as all other players together. In 2 or 3 years they will be able to do everything by themselves and when they do they will be unstoppable. I hate most Google apps (I love Microsoft systems way better) so I'm really looking forward to upgrade to Harmony OS and get all this Google out as I don't use it that much anyway.

I once thought that 720p displays would surely be superseded by 1080p. But year after year they keep popping up with such regularity that suggests they're here to stay. I wager that the same will happen with 4G. 5G phones will enjoy wider adoption, but 4G-only is such a valid use case that they will keep a permanent market share.

Oh, so you are the first to make 5G network. Oh well, that's not gonna do you any good. You can only sell 4G.
