Anonymous, 19 Nov 2020Oh.. i did not know that unisoc have midrange chip ...hope ... moreThat's only valid for Helio SoC; their X series, G70 upwards, and p60 upwards are worth every penny of ur money.
if u choose to use Snapdragon SoC, SD660 are the minimum, as not even its 'clone' (662 &665) are satisfying (QC weaken the 'current' SD6xx lineup; SD660 AIE is just a 'refresh' of SD660 with additional "AI" feature, but interestingly, have lower benchmark score than 2018's 1st gen SD660).
In short, if not for Helio SoC, we'd stuck with Cortex A72 in mid-range SoC at best (SD650), as Cortex A73 (SD660) was really expensive when first released, even until a year later.
Thanks to Helio P60, QC forced to 'retire' SD660 (later, the entire SD6xx lineup) as 'premium' mid-range SoC, and introduce 'brand-new' SD7xx lineup which are expensive but a lot weaker than the flagship counterparts (only 2 powerful cores instead of 4? SD652 were powerful enough compared to SD820 in CPU as it has 4 cortex A72, and the GPU is the 'most powerful' in mid-range)

Recently i bought a phone with helio g80 and coming flagship, i must say that it perform pretty good for my everyday need .. midrange is already good enough nowadays.

765G uses cortex A76.. Not A75..even clockspeeds are not right.. This misinformation is not expected from this site.

AnonD-641645, 19 Nov 2020It looks like the 5G and 4G versions are otherwise identica... moreOr might be the same as CPU where an 8 core with defective cores will be sold as a 6 core one.
The model or the antennas could have issues and they simply disabled it.

They didn't bothered to include the 3.5mm Jack which by far the most requested feature that they often remove from smartphones, and since it may not even cost much less than the 5G version, and since the only goal to want a phone without 5G is either the different internal space for more feature it offer (which here isn't the case) or the reduced cost of the device, they clearly don't made that version for market diversity or for the sake of users.

As I said, this phone smell like a beta test product thrown at customers and sold as a finished products, expect a lot of various issues with this phone, UD camera related or not, many updates, some sometime making things worse, and despite similar phones having different update branch with various effects.

Would be interesting to see how this chipset performs. More competition in the mid to flagship chipsets would be good.

That UNISOC is the same Helio P65 with Spreadtrum Cellular Modem.

It looks like the 5G and 4G versions are otherwise identical down to the weight and battery capacity. The takeaway should be that there is still a market share for people who won't be bothered by 5G.

Umm... SD765G uses Cortex-A76 derivatives in its big cores, not A75.
