20 November 2020
The housing for the sensor is huge compared to what is found inside the non-Max Pro.

I am not talking about 12 pro max(BTW I already watched zacks video), but I'm talking about the iPhone 13,it will likely explode, first it is new battery technology, and it is 13, the unluckiest number so just buy the iPhone 12 or wait for iPhone 14 or if iPhone 13 is apparently safe well ok

They have done it again, really great job and as usual.. People will come up with stories that it was "done before" lol

So Apple copied it from DSLRs, am I reading the article wrongly?

I thought these RAW images are unprocessed.

I do occasionally read AAWP just for the camera comparison with the Lumia and the writer really put a link for full-res unedited photos. I definitely applaud such an idea as I don't even see a lot of popular tech sites ever do that.

I only see old phones like the Nokia 808 PureView and the Nokia Lumia 1020 manage to produce a totally natural image. But then again, they are really old now.

The name... moreYou may say that, but that site also provides downloadable full-res photos from each phone so I'm not solely relying on the comparator tool only. Even the EXIF data stays true and totally unedited for each phone - I can easily tell which sensor was used from the iPhone when looking at the EXIF data. I viewed it on my 27" Acer Nitro FHD monitor and it really says it all - really not happy with the iPhone photo quality from that review.

But nevertheless, I'm still going to wait for GSMArena's full review anyway.

I really want to like the iPhone 12 Pro Max because of its completely brand new main and telephoto camera sensor. But when I look at a camera comparison between that iPhone and a five-year-old Microsoft Lumia 950 XL from All About Windows Phone website, I begin to have a doubt about the iPhone. I'll wait for GSMArena's full review, I just hope that the photo quality will be better.

But that said, manually downscale the native 48MP resolution photo to 12MP shows much better quality than the pixel-binned 12MP photo. Even Xiaomi couldn't do that with the Mi 10 Ultra - downscaled 12MP photo from 48MP resolution looks exactly the same as pixel-binned 12MP, absolutely no difference at all.
