No-one would find your apps from web if you aren't big name company. Spreading apps all over the web is horrible thing, we already experiencing that with Windows. It's huge mess. Sure we tech people can handle it and find all the apps what let's not forget that most smartphone users are just casual users.

It's good that google is showing power of Progressive web applications by its own example. I hope this gives better motivation for companies to convert their apps to pwas.
This will give developers more freedom as they won't be bound by store rules and it might give even better chance to new mobile OS-s as they would achieve easy parity with established players.
