Bruh why is the majority of this list dating and video apps. They're not even prominent apps that many Indian people will be using. Seems like banning these apps is just a show put on by the Indian govt.

It only means Play store is not safe and any app can be misused. Any country app will collect data and misuse another country people. Android will not be global anymore very soon. Soon people worried about their Data privacy will stop buying Android phones. Near future Google play store will be obsolete.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020I can see it clearly. Modi bans AliExpress, then he and hi... moreYou're right. But at the moment, we don't have a choice. We need some crucial Chinese imports.
We don't have Lithium ion plant operational yet, and even if it is, we'll have to import raw lithium in my opinion. We can definitely reduce our imported value a little though by this move.
When PM said that we must be "aatmnirbhar" (self reliant), he didn't mean abolish Chinese completely (that's what people perceived wrongly).
What he meant was that we must make efforts for import substitutions first, to be truly independent. Companies like Micromax and Lava can go a long way towards this.
I wish to reassert that I'm not a PM fan, in case you wonder. But that's what he meant.

I'm an Indian. I understand the decision individually.
But no doubt, America has access to far more data than Chinese have about us, from the mobile devices. This is something I can confirm. At one time, our government wanted to ensure that Google's data remains in Indian offices of Google, then a strong handed team from the States came to India... and they somehow convinced our PM to let data fly to USA...
Somehow a government team is advocating private corporations... but ok, leave that.
Internet which was a freedom thing, is now a spying backdoor by default in mobile devices..
And the spying party is not even our government, its the world's most powerful nations... Amazing, isn't it?
I never went to USA, have no intention either, don't belong to any disputed region or religion, don't wish to use their services, still I'm spied upon... There are backdoors not only in OS'es, but is processors as well.
Dear NSA, so what top secret did you find about me after all this?
