AnonD-923722, 25 Nov 2020To those who are clever, Samsung's promise of 3 genera... moreI don't own a Samsung at the moment (my wife is) but it's not a "party trick" , maybe the Note owner are not lucky because they should have had android 11 but for Galaxy S series they had the v10 since February so they'll get v13 . Overall the the OS policy may not very different from the like of OP but at least in the last couple they are doing an hell of a job in releasing security updates much more often than OP or huawei.

To those who are clever, Samsung's promise of 3 generation of software updates is an party trick. Why? Note series usually launch just right before the newest version of the android launch, so it ships with the older version. So a couple of months later, you will get 1 generation update, then you have 2 generational updates left. It is just exactly the same as Oneplus or Huawei promise of 2 years of updates, because they ship with the latest version of android, but gets updated for another 2 versions. So don't get fooled by that. But it would be good to see samsung giving 3 years of updates like Google does and ship with the latest android version. Hope Samsung don't destroy the Note line. The s series should be the one to be erased. Note is so so useful
