It would've been a good competitor to the Moto Edge+.
Nokia hasn't released anything impressive, neither this year or last year.

    Oh boy, again?

Who cares anymore? I used to. After they botched A10 update for Sirocco making it lose WiFi and depleting battery (not to mention other issues) I no longer care.

          Hold on.
It's not next year for sure.

Carol, 27 Nov 2020You don't say? Ever been on the Nokia website? Ever? ... moreDon't try to defend a firm like HMD that is only making a fool of itself with the Nokia brand name.

Nokia Anew's credibility is pretty low. They have a history of making wild claims and then backtracking on them. The only reason so many people trust them is that they're one of the just 3-4 larger news outlets that exclusively cover Nokia/ HMD.

NokiaPowerUser, a much more reputable source, has already disputed Nokia Anew's claim. So, basically, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll take a 7" flat full screen display with EMR tech, pop-up front cam (or Zenfone style), 3.5mm jack with LDAC, 7000mah battery, sd card support, no 5g, whichever decent processor allows bootloader unlocking, decent cams with ultrawide and telephoto and I'm set.

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2020They know that's a gimmick. But it is the only feature... moreWrong, the best way to earn money is to make diversity, I can't stress this enough.

The smartphone industry is one of the industry where we could have the most diversity and available choices in general for different tastes, and it is comically one of the most limited and diversified industry out there.

I like to compare things to cars as it is something most peoples are familiar with, and funnily enough, it also apply here, the automotive industry despite the cost of individual car and the complexity of making variations, is one of the most diverse there is, with tons of different types, from small cars for short commutes and city driving, berlines, SUV, pick-up and trucks in general, 4x4, sport cars, supercar, hypercar, hatchback, minibus etc.
Each having multiple engines type and within those engine types having multiple power, even multiple technology per power, different transmission types, and each having a LOT of various options.
3 doors, 5 doors variants, some without back seats for those who want/need and professionals.

Imagine if the car industry took the smartphone model :
All car being small hatchback with 3 doors without rear seats, each model having only one engine, and the options being basically the same with little to no variations, and all of them looking alike, and when someone talked about wanting a Pick-up or a berline, peoples went mad stating they (themselves, and clearly not representative of all customers) don't want nor need that.
That's the big and stupid issue with current smartphone industry, there is only a single main design that outside some minor variations is basically over-used with no options, and underdisplay camera would be as stupid as replacing all windows by low resolution and 30fps 2D displays and putting camera all around the car for absolutely no reasons and out of no need just because some peoples couldn't stand to see the windscreen wipers when they looked at the road.

There are so many variations to be had :
Thicker, slimmer, smaller, larger, bezel, notch, pop up, punch hole, underdisplay camera, no front camera, slider, flip up, second display on the back, flat display, curved in X, Y, Z etc ways display, no main camera, a single cheap main camera, a single amazing main camera, lots of camera setup variations, mono and stereo speakers, and those are just the main things, so many other things are to be varied.

But one SURE thing, is when a feature is NON INTRUSIVE, like the 3.5mm Jack, that those who prefer wireless can simply perfectly ignore and just not use, shouldn't be removed, mainly when there isn't any alternative (no XLR) but still are.
And on the contrary, features like punch hole that are the perfect exemple of an intrusive feature and that have many alternatives should never in any cases be the only available option, in fact the two main available options are punch hole and notch, the two only intrusive one.
Even if I wanted, I couldn't make a more stupid choice than that.
It would be as if car manufacturers started to get rid of power steering and that 98% of all cars produced had non removable vinyl roof.

So EVEN if underdisplay camera were how to make the most money, which it isn't, just for respecting users, phone makers should make diversity a thing.
And considering that base on a phone production cost vs the big margin they made but also all the legal data collection to know how user use their phones, and that a well built phone wouldn't make it hard for updates, and would in fact push toward better updates that don't require a new OS per phone but a shared one, why isn't it a thing already ?

This is one bitter thing with the new Nokia. They are always releasing devices with 1-2 years old chipset.

HMD, please stop hurting the Nokia brand now and leave it.

Give the way for another more competent professional staff !!!

                            HMD, go away !!!

After these many delays, I hope it should be comes with 875 at least.

Maybe they tried to compare camera quality(which is their main selling point) with iphone 12,note 20 and they knew that people will know they are lagging behind :D .
