I happen to like to s3 in black..... It has a sexy look that you wouldnt get with the blue or white. It will definatley turn some heads.

I got problem with GS3 lock screen. I can't get rid of AccuWeather and clock from display! The setting is located in the Clock menu Setting. I tried to switch off the Accu Weather and it's still showing on the Lock screen, It's annoying!

Pointless and a waste of money until Samsung decide to accept and resolve the CRACKING issue of the cheap plastic hardware......Treat your customers with decency!

Right. So you're happy with a car with the power and handling of a Ferrari or Veryon, in powder blue or baby-poo brown and looks like a VW Beetle. Good for you.
Me.... I want my car to not only drive & handle like a supercar but to look like one as well - in a bad ass colour to match.
These maybe phones, but why shouldn't they look great and be in a color you like together with top hardware?

Hardened magnesium-aluminum alloys are as light as polycarbonate and many times stronger. Magnesium-tungston alloys even lighter and much stronger still, though hugely expensive.

However, It alwaays toubles me why anyone carries around a brick instead of a phone if they so fancy about the weight, but then again that's my opinion.
Somehow the weight gives you a "premiume" feeling is just a myth injected by the bs of the mainstream media, that what I think.

It's interesting though to see that Samsung would use plastic for the sake of making a phone lighter, but then try to achieve a "premium" look and feel.
I own an iPhone and a Galaxy S, and Omnia 7 from work, and I much prefer the Omnia and iPhone in terms of weight and quality over the Galaxy S. My friends have the S3, and again, same story - it feels like holding something cheap. Weight does matter in my opinion, as it makes a phone feel sturdier and more expensive. That may just be my opinion, but many people I've spoken to feel the same way.

As to why plastic - it's because of the weight and thus the overal feel in hand. A metal phone of this size would be substantially heavier even if made of aloy, so Samsung choose to focus on experience in holding and operating the phone Vs durability in this case. That again is a matter of choice...
