Huh. It will increase the cost of a phone by $15 for a useless app FOR most of the buyers.
And those who like to go that far for videography shall purchase it. And it'll be with you for your lifetime. And it'll be way better than buying phones of a SPECIFIC brand only to access it.

It is people like you that have made my Chinese friend scared to speak her own language in public.
A lot of Chinese are very good and kind

I am not too keen for the 4K display because it is quite small compared to an externel desktop LCD, but 4K can be scaled down to Full HD easily (half width, half height). Of course, I cannot neglect recent developments which affect not only my life considerably, and we cannot deny that China - the government and people - have come too close to wild animals / allowed it to happen - although they all know about HIV (1920) and SARS-CoV (2003) for a considerable time, again. When they take responsability, I will consider their brands again. This is not politics, it is a grave public health issue.

If not, well, you should check it again, you call him a fanboy while prasing a boat company that makes tiny little boat crappones. Ttztz... Sony just needs to stop doing bad decisions, your whatever that is should just stop building traking crappones to get data out of mediocre minds, while swelling their already huge pockets,l. If donald duck was right about something, this was it.

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2020How much do they earn by selling majority sub $200 phones? ... moreYou're just a sad fanboy that can't accept the death of Sony.
The sales of the X50 Pro are destroying your beloved Xperia 1 II because Realme launched their phone in India and Europe, two massive markets while Sony launched their pathetic 1 II in select regions and stood there hoping for the best because they know almost nobody would throw that much cash into a mediocre flagship.
Realme and every single brand of the BBK Group produces high quality smartphones for every price segment because they know what people want, so they give it to them. Meanwhile, Sony is out there betting on sad fanboys like you that get emotional about their phones because they bought some old Xperia phone or a Sony TV in 2005
Sony shipped 400K units in Q1 of 2020 so even though they set their expectations as low as 700K shipments to begin with, they still managed to miss that number awfully, later on they managed to get around 600K units shipped during Q2 & Q3 which is still below their already low expectations of 700K per quarter and they're now celebrating it. Sony is celebrating a huge failure in

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2020So huge R&D and Vivo has copied the Eye AF , also works... moreI must admit, the sheer amount of BS, misinformation and nitpicking you managed to cram into this single comment is utterly amazing. Not only that the points you made for BBK's subsidiary companies are completely off the mark, more than half the stuffs that you included in the list of stuffs that "Xperia was responsible to introduce to mobile world" were something either introduced by other companies first or Sony straight up didn't do in the mobile space all.
The GFXbench results that you included in the last sentence is laughable - you're comparing on-screen fps on the device that runs the benchmark at QHD+ resolution to the one that runs it at FHD+. Of course Xperia scores it higher LMFAO.
It's fine to express your love towards Sony but there's absolutely no need for you to show your strong hatred for Chinese companies in the process. You've got your xenophobic comments deleted repeatedly in the past, I strongly think it's time for you to stop it.

Ok. There is plenty of performance for most things, including photography, but not for video camera functionality, which is still stuck in the dark ages.
Phones themselves, ussually offer limited manual control and features. The chips, have limited video encoding modes without pro level 12bit+ video modes, supported by various top end sensors, 4:2:2, 4:4:4, high bit rate. 8kp50. Even though there is enough processing power across the chip for a manufacturer to program such modes. An advanced intra codec mode could be done with resizable sensor window (wide screen or undersized for anti-aliasing, at higher frame rate) like this, and with definable computational photography and luts for pro like scene rendering, such as Bright and Dull (favours rendering dull parts of scene with adjusters) scenes and Dull with bright, Bright with dull, mixed scenes, which suite wedding and Party outside and inside, night and day (as weddings in particular do) with definable onscreen controls to flick between styles (pick wedding, pick dull, pick dull bright to get the church stain glass windows from completely blowing out, optionally slide to adjust balance between wedding party and window, or the light from windows across the bride etc). Simple to operate for home users going to a friend's wedding. Another slider for colour brightness. Focus Depth and width slider, drawable out .from the screen edge.
Ship filmic pro camera app as standard.
Then video functionality would improve. But realme is unlikely to do much of this. But, my little cheap micro camera phone, and the old iPhone SE, had better very simple image balance controls than many larger phones. They could maximise (turbo) the video data rate and 12 bit 4:2:2 4:4:4 balanced widescreen modes with full API 2.x functionality, and dng containerised for speed post processu, video mode of burst still frames with sound tracks.
