Next SoC will be called 988, then 1088 , then 1188, then 1288... Oh, I rather stop there.

Man this is getting super duper boring - every time year after year with minimal to almost no improvements whatsoever, except for the ones on paper but in real life there's no difference.
Doesn't matter anyway since most of the world will yet again get the sh*tty, garbage exynos chip.. The Dragon 888 is already light years ahead of garbage exynos.

Smart Guy, 01 Dec 2020Increase AI , for better surveillance and learning from use... moreAI isn't really a threat.
There are real one like :
*Constantly there or lack of occultation mechanism for front facing camera (and on a secondary measure on main camera(s) too).
*Lack of "ON/OFF/Push To Talk" microphone function.
*Lack of Wi-Fi/GPS/Data kill-switch.
*Data encryption that are non accessible to the user.
But also lack of privacy laws and rules in how OS, networks, consumer electronic manufacturer and applications work.
AI is more like accelerators that can be used to analyse things like keyboard key presses or even using Wi-Fi as a RADAR to look through walls (both have been done), it isn't by itself a direct source of informations, it is only through hacks that it is used for that, otherwise even some basic privacy safety would prevent them from acting against the users, and those should be really a big focus along with the other things I mentioned previously.

Redmi Note 9s User, 01 Dec 2020I wonder why they named it 888, not 885I was thinking the same thing too . Now they will have to find a new naming series sooner. They could have gone with SD876 . That sounds and looks cool too.
