AnonD-46560, 16 Aug 2012Putting jelly bean to s2 is like putting iOS 6 to iphone 3G.Oh, yeah?
Well, I'm on ported CM10 ROM and it works faster than even gingerbread!

What world are you livin' in, friend?

perhaps you don't know the potential of a galaxy s2
AND, THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT :
If Jelly Bean works on the galaxy nexus, which has got comparatively sluggish hardware than the S2's, WHY THE HECK ARE YOU UNDERESTIMATING THE POWER OF AN S2!?!?!? >:(

AnonD-31068, 16 Aug 2012that is true BUT you don't get the full features of an upda... moreWhile S2 would not get the perks of S3 such as the pop up video player, all of the JB feature will be available. This can be achieved thanks to the flexibility and good compatibility of Android systems (expect for a too outdated models such as phones with HVGA screen or single core cortex A5 processor)

AnonD-2663, 16 Aug 2012It's pretty sad that fanboys are desperately waiting for an... moreNo. Not waiting for update to make the phone useable.

Problem is Android fans generally want the latest, most cutting edge, so when they know something is out there that's newer (and supposedly better) they want it - forgetting that just 6 months prior they were doing the same to get the OS version they have now.

Far fewer iOS fans update their phones less - most don't even know they can, what it means or how. This is not a put down, just how it is.

Android fans like tech, change and improvements, looking for the latest to further improve the user experience. Apple fans like the experience, consistency and image. Since iOS updates don't do much to change either, users don't care as much about them or users don't want to deal with possible changes to their familiar experience.

AnonD-543, 16 Aug 2012I totally disagree, the ICS is the most complete OS to date... moreIn terms of intended features - yeah, ICS is pretty good. However in terms of OS success, its like the Vista (or MS Millenium) of the Android world...

It clearly has deep rooted issues otherwise why would Google have taken months longer to release it then advised, then even itself pretty much skipped 4.0.1 to go almost directly to 4.0.2 for it's devices. And 12 months later most manufacturers still haven't updated their devices with it.

JB goes deeper than a Bug fix, it's a significant rewrite addressing both ICS and general Android UI issues. As long as it delivers on claims, then from JB onwards iOS will lose one of it's two biggest positives over Android: a smooth and consistent user experience.

Baldy, 16 Aug 2012You know what i find interesting? The fact that you and man... moreTrue enough!

But you should update it to Gingerbread 2.3.6 (or 2.3.5 at the very least). It is truly worth it for so many reasons:
                                - faster
                                - more (very useful) features
                                - great UI options.
It was like a whole new phone experience.

The 'Value Pack' on the other hand has not been such a great move - have found it plagued with issues.

But back to the topic: This is great news! If JB deleivers on it's promises then it is what Android needs the most right now - a smooth, consistent user experience.

Perfect, I'll keep my GS2 and not gonna buy the GS3. If this come to be true. I'm happy with my GS2 running android 4.0.3 with a 16GB external memory.

I am impressed with the GS3's HD screen and camera but will not buy it. I will keep my GS2 running 4.1 Jelly Bean until Google release a Nexus Motorola for the best build quality with the upcoming Android OS "Lime Pie" surely Android 4.2 or 5.0 and not buying the GS3 or Motorola Razr HD.
