There are people arguing LCD have better colors, other stating it is cheaper, some say it have a better contrast, etc.
I think there may be as many arguments in favor of LCD than there is for Oled.
MicroLed tech will soon be widely available and potentially killing both.
But ! Some argue that an LCD with an addressable MiniLed array as backlight would be way better than Oled, some may argue that it is even better than MicroLed
Personally, my favorite type of display haven't been yet put on a device, it is a really special one, based on Graphene, but it isn't what make it great, it is an E-Ink/E-Paper display, meaning that not only it doesn't need backlighting like E-Books, but also like them, it doesn't require any power to hold pixels into a specific color, making it extremely power efficient, of course back (edge ?) lighting is required when ambient light is too low.
But it also has many other advantages, it uses interferometry to work and I think it do it in a way that make each pixel able to display any colors, meaning no need for RGB sub pixels, helping it to gain in density.
What is sure though is its density that is way higher than any display from any smartphone currently in the market, same for the frequency which can be crazy high.
Those were the downsides of E-Ink/E-Paper, there were slow and not durable, it fixed those.
It is called GIMOD, or Graphene Interferometric MOdulator Display :

I am not paid or asked by them to do ads or anything, but I may be the one who talk the most about it on the internet, at least I appear on most "GIMOD" searches, and I find it mind-blowing that no one else do talk about this crazy tech, because though it is aimed at VR, it could make a revolution in smartphones and smartwatches, imagine a smartwatch with an Always on Display that don't consume energy except when refreshing, and it may be able to do pixel by pixel update !
Note that there might also be other techs as good or even better, I know it the past, all the hype was about carbon nanotube displays that were better than LCD, but Oled apparently turned out better.
So, the Oled VS LCD debate might not actually be the craziest thing, the craziest thing IMO is that no one talk about the new and future techs, and I don't talk about overhyping them, for example I don't write stuff the GIMOD can't yet do as an overhyped fan, but just talk about those.
Maybe, next thing we know, a molecular type display will be able to make 0.1µ pixels and have a crazy fast frequency could be the next big thing, but yet everyone focuses on LCD vs Oled for some reasons.
Anyway, one sure thing, many do want LCD, a surprisingly big amount of people actually, sometime some guy will write their deception that X or Y phone have Oled rather than LCD, and quite often when someone writes complains about a phone having LCD over Oled, you'll see people defending it.

And this idea of removing the Jack make no senses at all, we make extra sure when creating any devices that back compatibility and retro compatibility are a thing, which is why Bluetooth 1.0 devices and Wi-Fi a mode are still entirely supported.
Also, this is actually more fitting to our modern era than just throwing support for older tech out of the windows.
Plus, despite the Jack being an old tech, it isn't as if no new things with it were made, unlike the first gen Bluetooth and Wi-Fi protocols, a lot of products using the Jack are still being made every year, some being really high quality, so if anything the removing of the Jack is more an anomaly than a typical technological advancement move.
Anyway we all know that it have been removed by Apple only to force sell wireless audio equipments, literally if little would use it, then it wouldn't have required to remove it in the first place, it is because many were still using it, but they figured out the little who would not buy Apple because of that outweigh the revenues from selling additional audio equipments.
Considering how they didn't change the design between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 7 despite other phone makers such as Sony already using other fingerprint scanner placement than the front one, it isn't as if they were doing a revolution anyway, if anything they could have dropped their proprietary charger that everyone disliked and switch to USB, this would have take courage.
If anything, switching to a magnetic connector like I often said, which would eliminate every potential complaints one can have about the Jack port and still allow to have a totally native and untouched analog Jack capability without using the USB dongle who cause more issues than it resolves.
The same is true with displays, despite Oled being the "newer" one, many people still prefer LCD, and it is a good thing that there are still LCD smartphones.

Solun1, 05 Dec 2020True but I still prefer my Buds+ compared to wired earphone... moreAnd it is totally fine, everyone has its own preferences, as long as one doesn't use his preferences to justify literally removing a tech that a lot (in this case, a majority) still want, I am totally fine with this.
In fact, I consider we should improve Bluetooth even further to handle some universal audio equipment handling protocols, the same way as proprietary wireless solution often result in better quality and lower latency, but it would take every brand to agree on a new standard though, as it would have to be done both in the wireless equipment and the Bluetooth side together.
As for why it seems to be a smartphone only problem, well, I guess it may be related to the energy consumption side of things, not just the Low Energy, but maybe the way Smartphones implement it require some tweaks to save power in the Bluetooth chipset side, making it having an additional delay.
Because the Note9 have a quite good Bluetooth protocol list, including A2DP.

For gaming this is an eternity,... moreFor once, I totally agree with you. That is why I don't embrace wireless Bluetooth audio anymore. Latency lag is one thing, battery life is a different matter. My younger sister recently bought me a Xiaomi TWS earbuds for my birthday back in August and I really don't like the overall experience. The distance from my room to the kitchen is only about 10 to 15 steps away, and yet I already lost the Bluetooth connection. I ended up having to bring the phone along.
That is why I never believe the "move on with the times" ideology, new doesn't always mean better.

For gaming this is an eternity,... moreTrue but I still prefer my Buds+ compared to wired earphones with my Note 9 because the wire is in such a dumb place so you can't hold the phone comfortably! And yes there is a very small latency but what is funny is that on my laptop there is no latency issues with Buds+ but with my Samsung phone there is!

So add wireless to the earpiece, and it is even less desirable for gaming !
