Anonymous, 08 Dec 2020im starting to believe it cheap things are expensiveAnd do you think that Samsung and Apple are not doing that? it is only that they do not get caught and have too much money to always cover up things. Any day I would prefer to buy a Good Quality Chinese Phone which has 3.5mm Jack and weight is 160 gram or less with good other specs and not too big size than spending $1500 on piece of Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo junk without basic 3.5mm feature.

I guess they convicted them so as to make it seem like trojans are not tolerated by the PRC, while in reality they probably mandate stealthier ones

I am so happy that justice still prevail.
I ordered for a Gionee S10 in 2019 till today they are deducing my airtime. I can't even load an airtime using the phone cos it will send a message to an unknown number without my permission in so doing stealing a bulk of my data.
I have complain to my SIM card providers but they confirmed that it's not them but the phone manufacturer.
This is unfortunate seriously.

ISpeakFacts, 06 Dec 2020Well, I use Gionee q20. Not a single ad there!I don't think you're paying attention to the article. You won't see any ads because that is exactly what they are doing: hiding the ads yet they still exist in your phone, stealing data. Don't believe me? then the Chinese court that ruled them guilty is a fool for doing so, right?

There was only one Tecno model with preinstalled malware, and there is not any proof of manufacturer malice. Also manufacturer issued patch ASAP, but no one cares

Almand, 07 Dec 2020These things are so easy to do on any android phone even by... moreThe trojans are baked in the ROM for most of these phones.
I think there was a scandal some years ago where a dialer (trojan which sends SMSs to expensive numbers) was integrated. I had a friend who was affected by this, forgot which phone it was.
Unless you have deep Android knowledge AND have full root access, you cannot get rid of the malware. They can be hidden as system services, undetectable and will survive a factory reset.

These things are so easy to do on any android phone even by a third party app that people so ignorantly install by downloading APKs off of the internet. Stick to the official store. At least that would reduce the number of malware you install on your Phone.
