Plastic can't break, and you are still able to use wireless charging. I bought a midrange device to get a plastic back (and the high end devices are getting so expensive now). Plastic scratches more easily, but my 4 year old tablet isn't really scratched at the back apart from a schratch from the case. It is possible 😅. My glass phone back does look the same as my previous plastic one, although it is dented instead of scratched (before I broke it, the glass one looks way worse now)
