First, Google should focus on its hardware quality, because after every Pixel launch theres a flood of hardware problems. Another thing - I need a flagship device, with flagship SoC, with a big display, and this is what Google didn't deliver this year. Even the camera sensor starts to show its age and the sofware won't help any longer because the competition moves forward.

The stock visual presentation is similar to stock, because it follows the same design language, but after that the features are developer specific choice.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2020I upgraded from a Galaxy S6 to a Pixel 3a (after using the ... moreI agree that they seem to not fix stuff that would be apparently easy to fix. However they did fix some initial issues, like the screen flashing on unlock.
The most annoying thing, however, is the fact that they reused almost the same platform after 3 years, for their new phones, but don't provide all the feature upgrades to the old ones. The P3 did not receive the 'cinematic camera', split exposure, extreme battery saver, hold for me, ...
My warning is, to people considering buying the Pixel for updates, is to think again. You might receive security updates, some speedy ones, but you can almost forget about feature updates.
On the plus side, the Pixel 3 feels really snappy since Android 11, so at least they got that right.

Great update as it seeds itself. My small small Pixel 3 continues to feel like new. Trustworthy, zippy thing that it is.:-)

I've been reading about various Pixel issues and how they need months to fix anything. Apparently those weren't just rumors but actual experience. Not to mention Pixel phones don't even have any better updates longevity. It's the same as the rest with 3 years of updates. And they even suck at it. This would really be the only reason to even opt for a Pixel phone and they can't even do that right...

I upgraded from a Galaxy S6 to a Pixel 3a (after using the S6 for five years). The thought process was a longer update support period, given that it is a Google hardware and software combo.
My frustration with the Pixel is that yes they do a lot of updates, but they either don't fix the issues, or make things worse... Case in point, Google Fit can't count steps properly anymore, Google Recorder for some reason does video recording (what's the Camera app for then...), while breaking the narration feature.
Probably my first, and last Pixel...

I ... moreit only started showing up in the last couple of day even in the US, and it only shows up when it detect that you're waiting during a call. I was wondering how to enable the feature, didnt find it, called a support center and boom it shows up lol

These "Pixel feature drops" which are Pixel-exclusive features is only further solidifying that the Pixel phones do not use stock Android.

Got the update for my 3a, all good apart from all four corners of my screen are now straighten, before the edges was rounded.

Important to note that Hold For Me is only for US users. I know I've been frantically looking for it after getting a Pixel 5. It's not a greyed out option either, just no trace of it at all.
