Optional, 11 Dec 2020Where is Sony, LG, HTC, old true Nokia, Motorola, Blackberr... moreThey lost the brand recognition and brand name with bad products, something which they won’t get back anymore. No-one really want to buy those phones with all other choices available in the market. In Android world you need to have best product, most known brand name or cheap price. You can’t really standout with Android so that’s why it’s really difficult for companies like htc, Sony LG and so on make any real comeback

Plenty of people who'll buy anything with a logo.

[deleted post]Take a seat, you won’t like this

” Ives added that the iPhone supply chain is now anticipating 80 million iPhone 12 shipments for the smartphone line’s initial launch period. “To put this in context, heading into late October we were anticipating 75 million units as the line in the sand and roughly eight weeks ago this number was in the 65 million to 70 million range,” he wrote.”

[deleted post]Clearly you guys do really bad job :D how it feel that what you guys do have zero effect? iPhone 12 Pro line is best selling iPhones in years. Propably you guys actually help Apple to sell more by doing what you do. I mean if someone keep bashing device day after year for years i would definately be interested about it and trying one, because that sounds really interesting product because someone sees so much effort to bash it. But you guys just can’t help it because you are so obsessed about Apple and they got in your head.

sametime Android flagships are hardly selling, shouldn’t you put all that effort to buy those and talk about those? Why you guys give so much free marketing for Apple? You know you droidboys are big reason why Apple is all the time most talked tech company. The more clicks news get more articles sites wrote about Apple. So why you guys want to give so much free traffic for Apple? Doesn’t make any sense. If you guys wouldn’t bash Apple, Apple news propably would be quite silent, just like Android articles already are because no-one cares. Neither their users or Apple users, there’s really nothing to to talk about them. But Apple articles always have a lot of comment. Which raise interest towards Apple.

[deleted post]And apple doesn't care about the so called "market share". Cause it means nothing.

If you want to look at the popularity, apple has the largest user base out there(1B iPhones active), tied with BBK.

Think about it. Apple just reached 1B iPhones in 2020:
                https://www.gsmarena.com/analysts_apple_reaches_1_billion_active_iphones-news-46010.php#:~:text=According%20to%20its%20founder%20Neil,active%20iPhones%20milestone%20in%202020.

So that number is likely 1.05B now.

Since there are a total of 3.5B smartphones out there:
                https://www.statista.com/statistics/330695/number-of-smartphone-users-worldwide/

                Android has roughly 2.2B devices.

Which means BBK should have a little less than half of the devices, aka 1.05B.

Will keep that in mind. You better not get caught defending Mac again. ”

What?!?!? :D why can’t i talk about them? And what you mean by that? Propably almost only times i have commented Macs are when talking about this new M1 chip which look to look like a real beast.

If you don’t like iOS and Apple why you are so obsessed about it? And why you bash them all the time in Apple article? Why don’t you just ignore them? Why spend so much time of your life bashing company and their products which you don’t like. Do you see me bashing Android and Android devices in all Android articles because i have Android phone as my work phone and not really like it.

iPhones aren’t overpriced, sales pretty much shows that ;) they are great value for their users and that’s why they are selling year after year, can’t say same for Android flagships, Android only sell in low and mid end because people just don’t see value of them in high price. It’s actually quite interesting how Android been growing rapidly over years and yet every year they find less people to buy high end Android phones. It just shows that people don’t see value with them anymore, propably had bad experience over and over again. With Android marketshare there should be many Android flagships selling really well.

Will keep that in mind. You better not get caught defending Mac again.
Android flagships are overpriced? Lol if Android flagships are overpriced, then what will you say about iPhone flagship? Ultra overpriced? No wonder no one takes you seriously on this site.
Even mid range and budget Androids are offering more than Apple devices. Let that sink in!
For me personally, won't be switching to iOS Again. I'll buy whichever Android is the best, will never switch back to lame restrictied iOS.

Android users are obsessed by Apple, we all know that and you are one of them.

                      Priceless :D

” We'll buy whichever company offers us the best.” i do that too. That’s why i just bought Samsung screen for my PC, i thought it was best choice for me. I also use Windows pc not Mac, you propably thought i have Mac, never had one, not interested their desktop devices, only for mobile devices. Currently for mobile devices it’s Apple and i don’t think that will change in a long time, as long as there will be something else than Android as an option, because Android is no option at all. I almost changed to Windows phone in early years, but it was just too late for it to be good. With current situation in smartphone market i don’t think there will going to be more choices so it’s iPhone for me for a long time. Luckily so far Apple have done great devices so it’s really easy choice and don’t even need to think Android. There’s clear reason why Android flagships are selling so badly nowdays, they are just overpriced for what they offer.

                        >>> You are the one twisting thing to suit your own lies.
Chinese companies are killing manufacturers who charge unnecessarily more for their products. Sony, HTC and LG enjoyed their reign and made profits during their time.
"Adapt or Die" is the name of the game over here.

Sure iOS will have their loyal base but they are non existent compared to the Android fanbase. Most of the Android customers aren't obsessed with a particular brand like you are with Apple. We'll buy whichever company offers us the best.

It just shows how these chinese companies operate. This kind of changes isn't happening normally to smartphone OEMs.

There's nothing bad with it really, but it's just sad to see how those big old android companies can't do anything but looking q after q how their sales are down. (except Samsung which now have good momentum thanks to Huawei situation) but well how long it last? Xiaomi is already after them and more chinese companies coming too.

“Technology equality”,another word always mentioned by Xiaomi and some Chinese smartphone company.
Unlike laptop and PS4/5,smartphone is more widely use in dailylife, especially in China.
Offer good reliable enter level phone is somehow a social responsibility for smartphone company.
Not everyone in worldwide can afford 500 USD or 1000 USD smartphone easily.Even in developed area like Europe, average phone price is only 300USD.In developing country, like India, most Africa country,it is even much lower.
Making phone for them are also something important.

Xiaomi starded to make flagship and even Ultra flagship compare to Samsung and Apple, but the price of flagship and Ultra flagship still lower than Samsung S20U/Note20U.
And as you can see,Xiaomi still insist on making really good budget phone like Poco X3 and Mi10T Lite, which are a lot cheaper than Samsung phone with close spec.
Same price, better spec& Same spec, lower price----that is what 'cost performance' mean

[deleted post]Also Xiaomi pricing is going up all the time, just like it happened with Huawei and eventually their phones were priced as same than Samsung. Price went up because Huawei got so big and they had to change their business model and strategy because they wen't global they started making tv ads and used celebrities to marketing their phones. Now Xiaomi is heading to same direction.

[deleted post]Chinese companies are sadly killing the smartphone market and twisting the pricing. Big companies like Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony can't do anything about and they also can't follow the pricing of those chinese companies. Company need to make money to survive, period. With all those companies the problem is that they all sell more or less same product and chinese can make it cheaper because they don't do global business and don't do marketing much else than in online, don't have big companies run and so on.

With this trend there will only be chinese android companies and Samsung hanging there. And then there's Apple who is almost unaffected by this because they have iOS and their own ecosystem which no-one can copy and they will always find users for their OS.
