Never buy any Red Magic products ever again, they suck. Sold my red magic 3 at a dirt cheap price after i got the ROG 3. They are trying to be innovative but not improving and stabilizing what they already have. Software issues, battery drain inefficiency, slow updates. I'm laughing at them right now and see how they play along.

I wish they had used the same material on the camera lens cover as well so that the users could've used it like a built-in variable ND filter, but oh well.

Solid State Logic (who make sound mixers) HQ in Oxfordshire had (or may still have) windows that worked like that to block the sun - since the 1980s. Similar tech used in the new Dreamliner for the passenger windows. So cool. Who needs curtains and blinds any more?

cyber, 11 Dec 2020another expensive part if you broke itIf manufacturers follow that philosophy that it can be broken that we're gonna end up with a slab with only buttons on it.

I like the idea, either the color changing or dimming variant.
But I prefer the regular transparent back of the Red Magic, I don't see why one would want to hide it, and the two little windows rather than a full transparent back is not that great.
One sure thing though, I REALLY hope this won't be something that'll get on almost all phones like the punch hole, notch and curved edges display did, not only most users put a case on their smartphone.
But even there, those who don't put a case won't necessarily want/use that, and since the price tag might be quite high, it will be one of the biggest money waster along with underdisplay camera if it is on most phones.
This is the perfect example of a tech that a special model of a series could come with, and also the perfect example of a tech that the standard model of a series should not have except on some special phone series.

This does not consume the battery because the "particles" polarize and remain in that position. And as for "who cares", tomorrow you will have it on the window of your car, so you will pay to install it on your car as well. Mail people who have ideas, ideas drive this world.

Instead of appreciating some shiny lights on the back, here you come bashing it as it has "no use"
So you are saying all pc's should be ugly and have no RGB just because it has "no use" to be beautiful.
True! Why are we humans? To enjoy seeing beautiful, shiny objects? No way! Just to bash them!
