macro photography is done with telephoto lenses. why is it ignored in mobile photography? all s20 series have telephoto lenses which can be used for macros. if you have a midrange phone, you can still use 2-3x digital zoom with regular wide lens for macros. a macro shot is not a 5cm range shot. macro means, all parts of a single object should fill the frame with defocused background.

The macro photos are gonna be not so great, and better off cropping from the main cam. They will look watercoloury, lack of detail, and a lot of artifacts. Though now finally an option ultra phones to shoot close up without that blurry background and out of focus shot. But, for marcro at 0.5X, you need at least 20 MP or so to keep the details and sharpness when cropping to 1x, if not, then better crop by the main cam. 12 MP is enoigh for 0.6X ( 17 mm), but at 12mm, the amount of pixels is too little to cover the wide field of view. So maybe the macros will be lacking sharpness.

I don't like plastic but I despise glass backs even more. And regardless of what rubbish they sell us, glass is glass, whether gorilla or godzilla glass.
They should concentrate in making stretch resistant plastics, like kevlar or something, which should be way more durable than glass, and also not sound cheap.

But, actually I don't mind plastic material if the side frame ISN'T plastic and the plastic on rear panel is a high quality one. Plastic is more durable than glass, lighter and less prone to fingerprint marks. I'll put a case anyway.
Now, i want to know the dimensions and if that is as compact as iPhone 12. S20's dimension is narrower but taller than iPhone 12 which makes it harder to reach the corner.

and the iphone mini isn't more than overrated hype
unless you prefer small batteries 2000 and less, then there's something wrong here
