MyMan, 17 Dec 2020Who cares at this point? Wireless buds and headphones are e... moreIt's not about the bitrate. Bluetooth is plenty enough for transparent audio. That really isn't the issue for any ordinary listener. Only an issue for those who's belief system leads them to the conclusion that FLAC is the only way. . .

The thing is though, even a basic phone with minijack typically has a more powerful op amp than what we find in headphones/earphones that aren't all that expensive.

I've been using bluetooth stereo headsets since 2007, but I still get an appreciable better experience with wired headphones. And in many occasions I strongly prefer being wire free, but I'm not going to pretend that aren't compromises involved, because there most certainly are.

And stop crying about the "worse quality over the bluetooth", because most people listen through some streaming service.

Hot stuff, 15 Dec 2020Ads from xiaomi. There are 2 application installed already ... moreI've never experienced ads from Xiaomi's pre-installed apps. U can prolly change the region to other eg. Spain and Mexico (mine is stuck in China) and turn off the "receive recommendation" on particular apps.

Hot stuff, 15 Dec 2020Ads from xiaomi. There are 2 application installed already ... moreI'm inside the file manager now, and use it quite frequently. I don't see any ads. Where can I find them exactly? I'm also always online.

The security app I do not use. Also apps are not UI. The launcher is the UI, the settings menu is the UI. No ads in the UI.

Most, if not all, manufacturers bundle some apps, and some of those ads may contain ads. Like app stores, do obviously promote certain apps, which is marketing. As does google play store and apple app store, but that doesn't mean that the UI is riddled with ads.

So I reluctantly use MIUI with a theme to avoid issues, have gestures and floating windows working.

Lol, 14 Dec 2020Yeaaa SD 888 with Broken screen lets go guys i live to spe... moreXiaomi has had several all-display alternatives. Poco F2 Pro and Redmi K30 Ultra, Pro and Pro Zoom being the more recent ones.

But of course tech tubers don't love Xiaomi as much as other brands, so both the pop-up selfie and slider are typically all talked pretty harshly down. Despite there not being any reason for it.

Movable parts in phones was pretty much a standard before, and at the time even mostly plastic.

My Mi Mix 3, with no ugly notch or hole punch, is working perfectly fine after several years and loads of video calls and sliding the display up and down very many times per day in this pandemic.

A shame the Mi 10T lost the pop-up cam from the 9T. I really like that phone.

This typical smack talk from tech tubers is probably also the reason why Xiaomi is having this new camera arrangement on the back of the Mi 11. So many of them making a fuzz about accidentally touching the bottom most camera and causing finger print on this bottom camera in the current typical vertical camera array.

First of all, finger prints on rear cameras happen pretty much no matter where they are placed. Even in the top corner. It's not difficult to swipe the back of ones phone on pants, sweater etc prior to taking a photo or recording a video.

meanwhile, i'm patiently wait for compact mi11
