Galaxy note was a bad product for anyone not sitting in a very dark room at all times when using it. The Note 2 will most likely have the same internals as SIII (or Exynos 5250), so that's marginally more powerful CPU, but with less support for games than the Tegra platform.
As surf tools and for general apps they are both "over powered", and will have no problems here. So basically the more power will be more exciting for games, since none of them carry any other interesting features. Tegra wins here, not to mention that this will be available in a few weeks. The Note 2 is months away.
Still, I see no particularly good reason to go for any of these phonblets now that the phones are almost as big and just as powerful.

Maybe that's why, LG has used that format :)

WoW thats great, if its come with the Tegra3 its mean Global edition Vu is the bigger version of both PRADA 3.0 (from design) and 4X HD (from similarity of spec) see what, Vu got a better audio than the disappointed 4X and as great as the sharpshooter 8MP of both 4X and PRADA 3.0

@2x: Missed that question. No, I have a TI4430. I'm just a bit disappointed over both Tegra 3 and Exynos quad-core to be honest. Then again I'm not much of a phone gamer, so I don't care so much on my behalf, but sad they don't offer better when using quad-core. Qualcomm APQ8064 is what I expected Tegra 3 to be. Probably that is what Tegra 4 will bring, or maybe even better.

They both came out same month, and at the same price range. Same CPU/GPU only, difference was Atrix had brighter screen with much higher screen res, twice the RAM and bigger battery. Not to mention lapdock accessories and the introduction of Webtop. Hence the 2x never impressed me.
My perspective:
LG hasn't done anything amazing the past few years. Neither has Samsung, other then becoming better at marketing. LG have made some good screens, they have the potential, but not implemented them in their own devices. LG themselves have admitted this and said they realise they need to change focus.
The Vu is a bit messy device, and 4:3-format doesn't relly belong anywhere anymore. By all means it's good that they are upgrading it before selling it elsewhere, but why buy this over the 4x?
Larger screen? Barely, and the widescreen will be bigger at showing video in native resolution.
Lower resolution does not help it's case. Neither does the marginally smaller battery on the bigger screen device.
Better to focus on marketing and selling the 4x.
Hoping to see some of that proper OLED in their future phones.

You people commenting should get your facts straight. Optimus 2x was the first dual core going on sale in s. korea before anywhere else at the same time that atrix was just being revealed.

2x, 20 Aug 2012If the Optimus 2X isn't the first dual core phone then why ... moreTesters include the information they receive from manufacturer, and the Atrix wasn't available in LG's home country before q2. Only in USA and Canada at launch. Could be one reason for calling the 2x the worlds first since it was released relatively worldwide.
Samsung's SII marketed it self as the slimmest smartphone in the world for months after the release of much slimmer models. They got away with it based on the fact that the slimmer models was not yet available in that particular country. In my opinion the statement is still incorrect, and should be the slimmest available in (fill in name of country).
Anyways 2x was a "dated" phone in terms of low RAM, low screen res (lower than the almost 1,5 year older Droid) and small battery at the time and price range of it's release. I wanted to like it, but just didn't feel complete enough as a new generation of dual-cores. 4x did a better job at it's release, it had the power, screen resolution to go with it and barely enough battery to make it work. Fanboywise I'd prefer LG over Sammy, 4x over SIII. The main interface (screen) is better in the 4x. Almost weird that Sammy made the SIII's screen so dim. Apple and their phone isn't even worth mentioning.
Tegra 3 is the weakest quad-core, it is noticeable weaker than quad-core Exynos and dual-core Krait, as well as they all gets pulverized by the first proper quad-core, the Qualcomm APQ8064, which is almost twice as powerful. For gamers though, I'm sure the Tegra Zone will balance it out a bit, depending on which games they like the best.
As long as the price is right, any phone can be good value :)
Just find it sad that this very big phoneblet, only sports a 2000mAh battery, same as the much smaller 4" Atrix had, +/- a few mAh's.
Notice in everyday use? Nope. You won't be able to tell apart a decent single core from Tegra 3, or any other, in basic use (texting, angry birds, unblock me etc. More power is meant for heavier apps and advanced games. Here even the smallest of margins mean stuttering and worse, no support.
However, ONLY Motorola features something more to enjoy the mighty smartphone with - Webtop. Sad to see how the others are lagging here. So much potential in current smartphones, why not let us use it? Sony has taken a long time to complete their own version of it. Here also WP8 may get a good benefit, if more proper windows programmes gets ported.

Not to mention the Optimus 2x was sold in a bigger market than the Atrix's which didn't even see the light in my country..

Why is it a very weak one? Let me guess your phone has a much better processor? The Exynos isn't much better than the Tegra, in normal use you can't tell them apart, but fanboys only care about numbers and numbers are better than the performance of the phone on the UI. Keep up with your ignorance. Sincerely someone who has a brain.

A few corrections. LG Optimus 2x was not the first dual core, Atrix 4G was. And Atrix 4g was the first 1GB phone and qHD Android.
Slim phones have been made for decades. Milestone/Droid was the slimmest HW qwerty smartphone when launced, and slimmed down ever since. The 9.2mm Black was released in May - same time as the 9.9mm Droid X2 with much better screen -, the 8.5mm SII released in April and 7.1mm RAZR in November. And slimmer ones have been made since.
LG need to start using their own goodies, such as retina, to be more attractive. As well as improve specs in general. The 4x was the first decent phone in years, but a bit too big and bulky for the masses, and also here sporting the weakest quad-core, which easily gets beaten by dual-core Krait and other quad-cores. At least then it was relatively new.

I think it is a brave move from LG
they are trying to do things which can be regarded as unconventional.
the provided the best low end smartphone (optimus one)
the first dual core (2X)
first phone to boast a slim design (optimus black)
designer label....the prada range
so it is another .... bold step
I don't mind using this phone, I've read reviews and I like software tweaks like the option to move the keyboard in a corner for single hand typing and video display converter. the only gripe is that there's no place to tuck in the stylus
this is the beauty of Android....flexibility
you can't have unusual design in other platforms
they are restricted, locked and rigid
I can have a tile based interface in Android if I want by just spending two dollars (launcher7

The world is moving with HD 16:9 ratio. Now the DVDs, games etc all come with HD ratio. If we watch or play game in it then it will look stretched vertically. Every company is moving with HD screen and why this LG is going backward. Anyway its design is great.

Replacing the old chipset for the new quad-core CPU is a good improvement, the other specs are good as they are.
And I know that you all hate its 4:3 screen format (and LG altogether), but at least it's a DIFFERENT approach. If any other company use this screen format on their phones, you would end up praising them for their originality.
