1/4 poulation of planet is starving and living on the verge of life but samsung still focusing on a device with zero durability screen and going to quadruple its devices.
They should rather feed poor childrens at africa and low end asian countries than supporting something which noone is interested for.

I hoping they could continue the Z Flip. Phones are getting bigger and I'm not a fan of it

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2020no point in any folding phone if it scratches with a nail
... moreI've had a Z Flip as my daily driver for about 8-9 months now and it looks brand new. The reality is, the protected screen (from the folding) and compact size seems to make it more durable than any other smartphone in real word use.
Sure, I was overly protective of the phone the first month or two. Because, you know, it was brand new tech and not exactly cheap, but since then I've been one hand flipping this thing without a worry.
Edit: I don't use a screen protector. Never have and never will.
I hope the next gen will be water resistant, though. That's a bit of a problem with the current ones, living in a country with 375 rainy days a year.

I'm guessing that the other two must be a Lite version of the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.

As opposed to concepts, generations of released product is what makes this new tech better by users providing feedback and getting production better.
No one else for now.

no point in any folding phone if it scratches with a nail
people buy screen protectors on top of their phones and still complain about scratches
the tech is nice, but until they figure out a way to make the phones scratch resistant, then these phones are not going to last, especially to the regular consumer

Mike9625, 15 Dec 2020Yeah, whatever you say that makes you feel happy🤙🏻
Even ... moreStill, 1 out of 5 of their phone have a bezel, 1 out of 5 is a tiny model, and both are heavily demanded by the Android community, apart from the 3.5mm Jack, those two might be the most commonly requested features.
But there are almost none to choose from in the Android market!
Basically no one offered a small smartphone like the iPhone 12 Mini in 2020 :
https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2020&nHeightMax=140&sFormFactors=1,2,3,4,6,10&sOSes=2,3
Except for the Yezz GO 1, the Cubot Note 7 and the Cubot J8, there isn't much of a choice here...
Only gaming phones, ultra cheap, niche and Sony offer bezels :
https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2020&sFormFactors=1&sOSes=2&idDisplayNotch=1
Once you remove pop up, flip up, all the phones that are in double, gaming and unknown brands, you only have Sony, Samsung Galaxy A01 Core, Samsung Galaxy M01 Core, Huawei Y5p, Nokia C2, Nokia C3, Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020), Nokia 2 V Tella, Honor 9S, and if I am generous, I'll count the ZTE nubia Play even if it is basically a striped down gaming phone, and the HTC Wildfire E1 lite for those who consider HTC still a big smartphone brand.
Most of those are super low end and none are flagship.
I am NOT saying that Apple offer good diversity, I am saying that 2020 Android market offer so little diversity that even Apple do better.
It isn't my opinion, it is a fact, considering the huge number of smartphone released in 2020 and how little choice for anything else than punch hole and notch there is, we can't say at all there is a diversity, and purely based on numbers, Apple do better in 2020.

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2020Apple offering diversity ? where ?Considering that out of 5 smartphones released this year, which represent the whole iPhone market of 2020 :
*One have a bezel (SE).
*One is compact (iPhone 12 Mini).
*The 3 others (iPhone 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max) have each a different size and different camera configuration for the same SoC.
Equivalently it is WAY, WAY, WAY more diverse than Android where 95% of 2019 and 2020 smartphones have 50% changes to have a teardrop notch and 50% chances to have a punch hole, 50% of flagship have curved edge display, camera configuration based on price range (no high end with little camera emphasis which is what people loved about the Pocophone F1, or low end with amazing camera), and all the other almost identical things that a bazillion of brands makes around an open source OS that allow the craziest designs.
Well, yes, Apple in terms of diversity vs available models literally destroyed Android, simply having a powerful phone with regular camera or having a really compact design isn't a thing on all the thousand Android phones released since 2019.
Foldable and Rollable are their own category, like tablet do, despite their only difference (making calls) being now not a thing anymore.
The LG wing is a regular smartphone, but it isn't one out of a bazillion that make any kind of diversity.

[deleted post]Indeed, the person who make Samsung Smartphone design really do.
All those who prefer punch hole over other options too, but it is an issue as if we made a therapy center for pillock (which may be those linking the punch hole in the first place), do you realize the humongous size of the buildings for that?

Lol, after Apple offering more diversity than 2019/2020 Android market by offering one main model, a smaller version and another phone with a bezel rather than a notch.
Samsung, which made Android become so bad and lost all its identity and diversity, rather than making multiple sub-variant of existing phones with different characteristics and designs, which is a mindblowingly no-brainer thing to do (as it can be cheaply done to retrofit a common design with various options so with the sub model more audience can be targeted, and simply make more of the sub-model that have the most demand, like, it is so obvious to do), will offer more diversity into the niche foldable market than in the main normal smartphone.
As I often said, it is as if Samsung spend great efforts finding what would be the best thing to do, and commit to do the exact opposite of that xD
Also doubling on what SHAPESHIFTER said, many totally wrongly say that "no one want bezel", "no want pop up" and talk about those as if they were niches, but the real niche is foldable and rollable phones, and as good as it is to see them in the market, they should certainly NOT replace regular smartphones like the punch hole did with every other options except teardrop notch which have invaded the market alongside it.
Smartphone market is literally becoming worse and worse, and Samsung is seriously to blame for that, along with Apple, though really no one asked Android phone makers to copy bad Apple decisions like removing the Jack or adopting the notch...
