The exynos was managing 38-44 fps and the body was starting to heat up, taking figures lower... Given that the main PUBG app is regularly updated with heavier content, now this figure should be even lower..

Anonymous, 21 Dec 2020problem is on paper Exynos is good. But real world perform... moretried benchmarking exynos in fridge freezer scores at highest possible as the all cores actually run at 2.7 ghz constantly without overheating
but then the battery drain was much more significant

running at room temps the Big mongoose cores Claimed 2.7 ghz will quickly fall to 2.5 to 2.3 to 1.89
to 1.6 in a few mins that's if device cold in room temperature 20 30 c never reach its claimed speed

the mid cores seem to be confused and not utilised properly when starts throttling

the a55 low core just run at highest no matter what temp really

lowest seen after 10 min gaming

      0.9ghz big cores 1.2ghz middle 1.5 ghz A55

      the gpu behaviour
drops from 700mhz after few mins to 500 mhz then stable at 433 350 mhz

comparing to the snapdragon don't need go in detail nowhere near as bad

problem is on paper Exynos is good. But real world performance is plagued with heating and battery issues. Don't get me wrong, they are still very fast chipsets. Its just that they over-promise and under-deliver.

Whatever happened to the AMD collaboration? Delayed for 2022?

I hope its not a case of "I'm back" converting to "Oh my back!" within few months.

Exynos was sorta fading with good single core scores which means good for basic standby, but not so well at other tasks. There were videos comparing PUBG performance of a 2 generation old Snapdragon vs a new Exynos, and Exynos lost it clearly, with all the heat and lags.

My almost 2 years old Snapdragon 855 can maintain PUBG at 60 fps, in HD quality without anti aliasing (in Full HD). Without heating.
I expect the new Exynos to do the same, consistently in Ultra HD quality without much heat... possible, right?

wow, the garbage is back in Europe...oh wait it never left.

I think it's more political than technical decision but yeah, that doesn't give any credits to Exynos components.
